Great work ! This is how 18th century regiments should like like ! (Like Heroic & Ross once said: "No more zipping around with sporty little batallions"). |

Hello Der Voize I have been following your blog for some time. Google automatically translates it into English for me. I am very impressed by your SYW battles and wondered what rules you use. I see you are planning to publish a set called "Ready, Present Fire". As the title is in English I wonder will the rules be available in English also? I have tried to post comments on your blog but I am blocked each time by a message in Russian which does not translate. My blog The Wargamorium also shows some SYW action on a large table which might be of interest. thewargamorium.wordpress.com Regards Broglie |

Hi, Broglie! Thanks for following and warm words. My english is not so good as I want – that is why I wright only in russian – but in nearest future I'll begin to wright in english ))) About rules – I don't really know – but in 3-6 months we'll only test the rules and than maybe we'll translate them in english

Very nice! Good to see a large unit. You may get some comments from the self appointed experts about how animated this formation looks – they will tell you that all SYW soldiers were automatons regularly beaten to within an inch of their lives – all stuff and nonsense of course, as anyone who has led troops will know! |

Thanks Der Voize Well if your rules produce battles like those in your photographs then they must be good. I love the correct SYW battle formations in the pictures. I will keep following your blog with interest. Don't worry about your English – it is better than my Russian! Regards |

Nicely done sir! Edit to say I just went to your blog and those are some impressive battles. Forgive my ignorance, but do you have trouble buying figures in Russia? |
der voize | 30 Jul 2013 8:11 p.m. PST |
Hello, 79thPA No. I've no troubles with 15 mm figures in Russia – I've Internet and VISA ))))) The other scales I can buy in my city (Saint-Petersburg) in one of the local modellind stores. About facing the miniatures: I know the oldschool opinion – the same pose and point of facing in all men in the unit. But I'm think that is all – I have to know too many reenactors )))) |

Quite right! Amateur historians make much of the draconian punishments technically awarded for talking in the ranks, moving heads, and so on, and that was all very well in training, but once on operations things relaxed a lot, even in those days! You have a good realistic formation there! |

About realistic formation: YouTube link
but everything is OK on the battlefield ))))

It is hard to believe they are 15 -18mm figures they are so well painted! They look like 28mm! I love your large battalions and hope you will produce your rules some day even on your blog. Good Luck |

hey, Broglie – I'll show you well painted figures! In the blog of my friend Vasiliy: vasiliyl.blogspot.ru Here are some proof ))))

Der Voize Once again I am very impressed and I read the post on Vasiliye's blog about the rules "Ready, Present, Fire" which makes me want to see these rules even more. I would love to know how you manage such large battalions on the table. I have been writing my own SYW rules over the years but they never seem to produce the right results however hard we try. You can see my efforts on the Wargamorium Blog thewargamorium.wordpress.com together with some pictures of the games but the painting standard does not compare with yours. I shall be watching your blog with interest. Regards |
