F4U Corsair and the SBD Dauntless--I just seem to really like gull-winged planes.

Another vote for the F4U Corsair, though the P-40 has a soft spot for me as well…

The Fairey Firefly

Always had a soft spot for the Douglas Dakota/C-47.

F4U Corsair, especially the four-bladed prop variants. Something about the gull wings…

Honorable mention to the Bf-109F, Mc202, Spitfire, "Tony", etc. Like those sleak lines with in-line enginges.

P-38 and F4U for fighters.

A-26, Beaufighter and B-25 for bombers/attack craft

Catalina, Sunderland and Emily for flying boats.

Spitfire any mark.
From watching air shows The Spitfire always seemed to impress the crowds,it just looks superb and they showed more better manoeuvres during the shows too.
Surprisingly the ME109 with the yellow front end is popular too.

I favor the F4U Corsair and the Zero

forrester30 Jul 2013 11:24 a.m. PST

Spitfire.

A unique blend of aesthetics and deadliness.

vtsaogames30 Jul 2013 11:49 a.m. PST

Mustang. Oh yeah.

For a just good solid aricraft i have to go with the P-47. It took a lick'n and kept on ticking.

But for sheer weirdness, the Blohm and Voss bv 141:

IF there's just one then a Merlin engined Spitfire, probably Mark V or IX. The Griffon engined ones didn't look quite as balanced, with the possible exception of the PR Mark XIX

Zero and the Me-262.

For beauty, the Spitfire.
For real, the P-47. With a .07% (don't know if I wrote that right, but it was seven P47s out of every thousand) loss rate, the P47 is the bird I would have wanted to take to the skies – and come home – with.

Flying Glove 155624 Mar 2014 11:03 p.m. PST

My vote would be the FW190

MiniatureUnited702 Apr 2014 5:59 p.m. PST

FW 190, Me 262, spitfire, p-40 war hawk, all american planes…
