I certainly hadn't heard about a navy for Manchukuo. Several of the ships are rather handsome, and they did see some action. Hmmmmm . . . Grelber |

That was quite interesting, thank you Robert! |

Nice find! The Tatung would look fantastic on the tabletop. EDIT: The ship identified in the PDF as the Tatung (or Daido) is identified as the Limin (or Rimin) on this website: link Limin:
Tatung:
Looks like they might have been sister ships. |

I hadn't read anything about that before. Very interesting. |

I know there was a sharp river battle in 1929 set ween the Chinese river flotilla and the Soviet Amur Flotilla but it is not an easy rent to research. Riverine combat is very interesting but often overlooked |

I have a couple photos of a Japanese gunboat in my collection. The turret looks like it might have been taken from a Type 89

Wow, that would be the perfect gunboat for a little pulp action! |

Yeah, that's why I saved the picture. Plus, they're small enough to reasonably fit on a table. After taking a second look, that's not a Type 89 turret after all. |

These are Landing craft AB, very close to the Gunboat Type C. A few saw action against PTs in SW Pacific. Not the actual tank turret but the same gun. A PT came home one morning to find one of the little 57mm shells imbedded unexploded in one of it's torpedo warheads |

Most welcome everyone. Thanks for the photos. Robert |
