Nice work there, but thought that until "modern" times death by "hanging" meant slow strangulation rather than by the "short" drop. Idea being that the longer the victim twisted gasping for breath, the more gruesome and hence the more lasting impact on the "groundlings". Beheading was considered quick and "merciful".

Strange times those.
