My daughter ran X-Wing for the HMGS/PSW table at Comic Con, and my wife seems to like it reasonably enough that I'll get some more ships. Target allegedly has them on discount and Barnes & Noble has got a BOGO offer through this week. Which ones should I buy? Wyatt |

All of them. You can never have too many X-wing and TIE fighters. |

the single expansion ships have special cards for pilots etc . a couple core sets and one each expansion is good |

Like Ming said, you will want at least one seperate X-Wing and TIE fighter for the extra pilot cards and some of the skill cards. |

Yeah, two core sets and one of each other is good. That nets you 3 X-Wing and 5 TIE Fighter. You can always have 3 TIEs + (2 TIEs + special TIE). |

I went with 2 Core sets 2 TIE expansions 1 X-wing Expansion 3 Y-wing Expansions 2 A-wing Expansions 3 TIE Interceptor Expansions (want a 4th) 1 TIE Advanced Expansion 1 YT-1300 (Millennium Falcon) Plan to get: 2 B-wings 2- TIE Bombers 1 Lambda shuttle I think the game is strongest when you field a solid squadron, especially for the Empire (see my blog for an example
just look for the thread in the Star Wars board). |

Thanks guys. I followed your advice and got the second boxed set and the Millenium Falcon. I had no joy at Target, but the BOGO 50% OFF coupon for B&N got me the pair for $50.32 USD (got to use the discount card as well). I'll probably get the TIE Advanced and one more X-Wing tomorrow with the same coupon and maybe the TIE/Y-Wing pair (they have limited selection). Wyatt |

What Chuck said – all of them. ![wink wink](boards/icons/wink.gif) My current roster (and I think I'll stick with it at this level for a while – at least until the next wave) is: 2 core sets 4 x wing 3 y wing 3 a wing 2 TIE advanced 4 TIE 4 TIE interceptor 1 Falcon 1 Slave 1 Doug |

I'll get at least one of everything, because I'm a completist. Even stuff I'm not all that psyched about, like the shuttle and forthcoming Expanded Universe ship. My current roster, including the core set: 3 X-Wings 3 Y-Wings 2 A-Wings 4 TIE Fighters 1 TIE Advanced 3 TIE Interceptors 1 Falcon 1 Slave-1 I definitely want at least 2 each of the B-Wings and the TIE Bombers. |

As I said, be careful. Some players have a '40k tourney' mentality when building flights and playing. That can be really frustrating. But you said that you will be playing with your fam, so its most likely not an issue. For good x-wing discussions and a printable ship list, check out "A Few Maneuvers" afewmaneuvers.com They have a great site over there. Plus lots of stats for the Shapeways ships!

Maybe im missing out.Having watched the Miniwargaming.com videos about this game it seems to lack a certain ooomph or adrenaline rush one associates with high speed starfighters. |
