Does anyone remember the series of campaign accounts about the "Albertine Wars" that appeared in Wargamer's Digest back in the 70's.

They were accounts of a ficticious Napoleonic campaign between the Commonwealth of Ruritania and the Kingdom of Graustark. Samuel T. Gill was the author – he used to have lots of articles in Wargamer's Digest – and I assume his club ran the games.

I have the first two accounts but there may or may not be a third. At the end of the second article it said "Next time the war moves to the Dromondy Theatre", so something similar.

Every time I go to a convention i thumb through whatever copies of WD I can find to try an locate this other article.
I am begininng to suspect that it was never published. Does anyone remember?

UGH, AltF…I wrote them years ago and I'm pretty sure that 3rd article was never published.

Of course, the guy who follows me with his post will send you a .pdf copy…of course! wink

So you wrote all the "Samuel T. Gill" articles?

Does the third article still exist in any form?

No, sorry, I wrote TO them (the publisher)…

So does anyone know who Samuel T. Gill is (or was?) For the longest time I thought it might be Wally Simon using a pen name!

I loved those and the Ostland Vestland campaigns

Yes, I have those as well. There was also a quick and dirty set of ACW rules…"Top Sergeant" or something like that. Complete rules in two pages!

There is a Wargamer's Digest group on Yahoo. I just sold all my old copies to somebody there. They might be able to guide you. Rob.
