I'm trying to find details on the color scheme for a Hussar from the reign of Naples (~1815-1820). The Hussars were part of the Guards for Internal Security (guards formed in 1813, cavalry added in 1815). The figure on the box has a light blue uniform with silver trim and a red pelisse. But I haven't been able to find any reference for that uniform or any uniform. Can anyone help me out and point me towards some good reference material? Thanks! |

Scroll down on this page, about halfway down you will find images of the Hussars in mention. I think this might be the unit you are looking for. They are the "Guards de Securite de Naples 1813-15". Uniform: Breeches and dolmann skyblue with silver/white lace and trimming. Barrellsash white/scarlett. Pelisse Scarlett(or crimson) with white lace and light brown fur. Shako skyblue with green dropping plume and silver top-band. Fantastic looking uniforms (to be expected with Murat as their boss;). (BTW: their uniform looks very similar to Duchy of Warsaw ADC`s, I think) link Regards Dr.J |

Thanks for the references, everyone. Dr Jeckyll, yes, that's the one that matches the box art. Nice to have some other reference to back up those choices. Thank you! |

Have purchased the Henk Toorenvilet book referenced above and found it very interesting, if a little expensive. |
