I've long wanted to get my hands on some of DAF's Fife & Drum figures and thanks to the kindness of two friends I now have a nice selection to work my way through as test pieces. I will be starting the AWI next year using F&D figures. I have found them just gorgeous figures to paint and quite fast to work with. The casting quality is amongst the best I've seen. I'm still fiddling around a bit with the painting but I'm nearly happy, these are my first samples:

Very elgant (realistic) figures and nicely painted too

They look great. I particularly like the kneeling figure.

They are very nice. They actually look to be 1/32-1/30 scale figures if you didn't know it.

Excellent work! I really like your choice of colors, as well as your subtle method of shading. It's very artistic and attractive.

Very nice! Probably too nice to game with! Every gaming club has a Harald Hammer-hands in it!

Anybody got camparison piccies of these alongside Perry's AWI?

DAF published several comparison shots on the Fife & Drum blog that include Perry, Eureka, RSM, Front Rank and Hinchcliffe, and uses a Minden officer as a stand-in for a Fife & Drum (same sculptor, same exact scale, same moldmakers and casters).

The comparison was shot and published back in 2011 before Jim had any significant inventory, just greens and masters.

From my blog:

The Fife and Drum are slightly taller than Perry.

Here's a F&D compared to a Perry plastic…

As can be seen in this instance the Perry is taller and more bulky in build. I think it will depend which poses you compare as to whether Perry or F&D is taller.
