Hello all, I have become enchanted with the vintage Grenadier Champions figures. Really, really enchanted. I have been thinking about how fun some comic style skirmishing would be, but I do not know of any Superhero rules offhand. I know Ganesha Games has some coming, and I am pretty excited about it, because I absolutely love Ganesha games product. So
To the question- what rules are good for Superhero skirmish? Ideally I would like something that puts a lot of variables into the fight. Superhero battles seem fun, but then imagine 2 to 4 (or whatever) heroes per side fighting PLUS cops trying to do their jobs without knowing who is who, henchmen and minions being diabolical or/and incompetent, innocent bystanders, hostages, gangs, paramilitary nuts etc. so basically a main plot battle coupled with interference and disruptive sub-battles
I am excited about my imaginary project! So, does anything like this exist? Or is it a roll your own situation? What rules (non RPG) do you use. |

I'd still go with the Champions RPG rules. It plays like a skirmish game with so many variables and manoeuvres you can use. |

SuperSystem 2nd or Third edition should serve you very well. Review link |

Supersystem would be my first (and pretty much only) thought as well. If I were going towards the earlier forms, pulp heroes like The Shadow and Green Hornet, then I might push .45 Adventures as well. The Champions RPG seems far too heavy for what you ask. I've not played it but my RPG friend is always pushing it and every time he brings it up my eyes start to glaze over from the minutae. Then again, maybe my friend is doing a bad job of describing them. |

As far as I am concerned Supersystem is the ONLY option. Great game! |

We play tabletop miniature Superhero games using the old TSR Marvel Super Heroes RPG. The FASERIP system is pretty easy to learn and it isn't hard to manage up to around a dozen powered characters per player. |

Gangs of Mega City One by Mongoose is a good one for that type of scenario. It works very well with a couple of power figures, a squad or two of shooters and a mess of civvies. |

Supersystem, as has already been said. I prefer 3rd to 2nd by a small margin, but both are better than good. |

Still like Golden Heroes (the original, not nthe GW version). This was available a few years ago as "Squadron UK" – and was shareable, it's now available on Amazon in full and basic versions : link |

Another vote for supersystem. 3rd edition is the best, although you're going to want to steal some powers from earlier editions that for some reason went missing in 3rd edition (like super speed) |

Vote for Savage Worlds Supers here. Been playing it now for a couple of years and all my players have really enjoyed it. |
