Ran across some of these miniatures lingering on the shelves at the local gaming store. Anybody have the skinny on what went on with this line? I know ZN Games is dead in the water but did anything other than a handful of miniatures get released? Did the company fold right out of the starting gate? Just curious as I found the miniature zeppelins intriguing.

Paintbeast25 Oct 2004 7:44 a.m. PST

According to the last press release I saw when the Founder lost his battle with cancer his wife and family decided not to continue with ZN Games.

Hundvig Fezian25 Oct 2004 7:50 a.m. PST

Paintbeast is correct AFAIK. The founder was Chris Bledsoe, who'd been in the industry for many a year and whose loss is sorely felt by many of us.

And yes, the miniature zeppelins were nifty little figs.

Hundvig, By miniature zeppelins do you mean the hammersmith gunships?

It was a pity. I loved the minis. I bought as many as I could find.

Shalom,

Allen57, I forget the figure names, but the entire "Dwarven" range for the game was composed of retro-looking airships. Kind of a cross between zepps and Flash Gordon in my book.

That is sad news. Were there any actual rule releases for the airships? I was thinking of maybe picking these up adpating to Aeronef maybe.

hi...I stumbled upon this when searching for zn-games stuff. I did some design for this game before it released, between 4 and 5 years ago. I designed some of the dwarves, and some goblins with egyptian type armor. I'm not even sure how much of the game was ever produced, I saw a few things that looked like my designs in the initial wave though. I heard that chris passed away in august of 2002. I never heard anything about the game after that. if anyone has any pictures of miniatures, please post them.

There were a number of unrealesed greens that never reached production including 25mm fantasy figures and some cool 6mm sci-fi beasties... looked like giant bugs.

Shalom,

Maksim-Smelchak.

hi. everyone. i am chris bledsoe's father. i am new to the
message board. thank you all for the kind words about chris
and his work.as far as the company and the games and minis and such, we have not produced any thing since chris's death.he was pretty much the heart and soul of the project.
i do have molds and greens and some minis, packaged and
loose. my aspiration would be to put all into production again. im not sure how to go about it, other than purchasing the equiptment to do it with. this is an option
still. tho i have no game to support either line of minis.
the games were never finished.

Space Monkey22 Jan 2005 9:32 p.m. PST

Somebody should pick that line up... even if for a different background. There were some distinctive designs there.

THANK YOU ....I HOPE THAT HAPPENS . WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH
SOMEONE ON THAT. DONT HAVE THE KNOWHOW OR THE RIGHT PEOPLE
TO GET STARTED.SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE WELCOME.CAN EMAIL SOME PIXTURES IF ANY ARE INTERESTED.KB.

Space Monkey24 Jan 2005 8:15 p.m. PST

Man, I'd love to see those images... though I'm in no position to help with the project.
Could you shop the images around to some manufacturers... I'm not sure who might be likely targets... I know GZG sometimes has some lines that are repro of older discontinued stuff... these designs a bit stranger than most of theirs though... (love those giant turtles with howdahs... and that ultra-wierd giant demon/frankenstein war machine...).
Somebody here must have a good suggestion...

I may be able to utilise the molds to bring the line back out (well, my father) and also I may be getting a proper spin caster thingy-me-bob this year so we'll be able to do more stuff. AS it is dad makes a lot of molds for others (and quite often the product) who then release them comercially. Happy to talk shop with anyone about this = perhaps we could make it a TMP venture between a few of us?

Hundvig Fezian25 Jan 2005 8:35 a.m. PST

Hmmm...if FU-UK can get their own minis made, surely TMP could do the same? I know I'd be up for some dwarf airships.

I can help on the pics-taking side, having a digital camera and Photoshop close at hand. Ulfhedner1, feel free to email me at javelin98 [at] lycos [dot] com if you want any help in that regard. We can even post the pics on my website if that would help you shop them around to a manufacturer.

My condolences on your loss. My sister is a cancer survivor, and I know what a gut-wrenching experience it is to have to face that in your family.
