Hi all, I am looking to play small-scale missions with SW minis. By this I don't mean big open-field tabletop combats. Instead I mean starship or starbase scraps, with a small squad of troops fighting their way along and through enemy-infested corridors and rooms, with the aim of freeing a captive, capturing the droid, assassinating the boss, etc. etc.. I am not terribly interested in lightsabre-wielding Jedi and Sith – I am much more interested in 'uncivilised' blaster firefights!! I don't especially like the WotC rules for Star Wars Minis, and wondered whether anyone might recommend something of similar complexity – I definitely don't want anything heavy-duty. Any suggestings would be much appreciated. Cheers, Redcoat |

Infinity's basic rules might fit your needs. The main game has a lot of special rules but the free basic rules are pretty simple and are great for what you describe. They don't work so well if you want more than about 10 models on the table at a time but work really well for 5 on 5 fire fights. Close combat is difficult to get into because someone will probably shoot you before then. |

Battlefield Horizon is a 1:1 miniatures skirmish game using 25/28mm figures. The rules can handle two or more players per battle – I've had up to 6 players. The rules to stat out figures from your collection are included, and there is a sizable list of special abilities for troops and weapon if you wish to use them. Definitely not heavy duty and it's a free download. Like them so much that they're hosted on my website. Battlefield Horizon Webpage Al | rivetsandsteam.com |

Ah-ha, my rules opened a new window/browser tab for each PDF. Some people have pop-ups blocked which will cause the PDFs to be unavailable, I have changed how they download, could you try again please? :D

Blasters & Bulkheads is pretty much SW with the serial numbers filed off. It's part of the Goalsystem line, here are some AARs of my SW games with it: link |
