Just finished my next project: a giant version of the new Academy Games board game 1775: Rebellion. My version has a game board that is 6 feet long in order to accommodate 28mm miniatures instead of wooden cubes for the units. The figures are painted by the redoubtable Scott MacPhee (who else?), and are mostly Perry with some Foundry.

Oh maaaaaan. I wish I hadn't seen that. That is really nice. The minis are beautiful as is the map. What a great enhancement to the game.

A mad idea maybe, but absolutely wonderful as well. And very nicely painted figures from Mr MacPhee.

Thanks for showing us.

Very cool.

only thing that would make that look better is if it was in my game room. lol

Exclelent, that's the way to go. Does that board fold up?

GDrover11 Jul 2013 5:57 a.m. PST

Thanks guys.
WarWiz- it doesn't fold up since its mounted on foam core, but I cut it into two pieces for easier transport.

Looks great. Have you played the game much, either the original or your new version?

Nice project, Glenn, and thanks for letting me play a part in it!

We played the inaugural game last night.
I really like the mechanics. Fun, fast, historical era feel, bloody, and rewarding good play.
The luck element is high, but doesn't seem to be as important as the players' decisions.

I love MacPhee's stuff- I try to emulate but my shading looks more haphazard.

That's a beautiful mapboard.

Wow, that looks great and the game looks like something I could play with my son. I have Baccus 6mm armies with units mounted two strips to a base. I could see the potential of using them with this game.
