Summer has finally arrived in the UK and with it the great tradtion of swigging back pints of water laced with a fruit/sucrose blend.

We're currently quaffing great quantities of lemon barley water, Rocks Organic blackcurrant (so much nicer than Ribena!) and (in smaller quantities – it has a kick !) Belvoir Ginger Cordial.

What's the finest cordial/squash in the world ?

Cherry limeade.

Today in the continuing Fourth of July barbeque celebrations, we were downing pitchers of fresh squeezed lemon/lime-ade with mashed raspberries added in.

Pineapple and lime is my favourite. Just a splash in a glass helps me get through three to four litres of water a day.

I have to go with the classic Pimm's cup. There's nothing finer on a hot summer afternoon!

A tall Gin and Tonic with a lime. The tonic controls the malaria, the gin makes the tonic taste good, and the lime keeps the scurvy away.

In Psych 101 that was called rationalization.
