Why did they decommission two Göteborg class corvettes and keep the two older Stockholm class in service? |

It sounds like the Stockholms were thoroughly rebuilt and modernized in 1999-2000, but not the Göteborg class. The newer ships may have needed more work. |

Decisions like that always come down to the material condition of the ships. The first boat I was assigned to was built back in the early 1980s, commissioned in
84(?, IIRC). She was in much better shape than my second boat, even though the second boat was 13 years younger. |

Yeah, I kind of figured that. Its funny you mention that Lion. I was on a sub tender that was assigned to a squadron of 637's and Batfish, the newest, was the lemon of the bunch. |
