Not quite sure where this should be asked, but…

Friend of mine has some old diecast figures, about 54mm, very good condition, possibly early Victorian farm workers, and is looking for some way to get them valued… any ideas?

I Googled 'Toy Soldier collectables" and found a few results. There are groups on the net I'm sure. Also, have a look at Ebay and see what they're selling for. I have my dad's old collection, but have never bother to price them as I'd never sell them.

Contact Double G (TMP handle). He attends a lot of the toy soldier shows and should be able to steer in the right direction.

Toy auctioneers can give your friend an idea of value. One auctioneer I have seen in the UK is Bonhams and there was another I cannot remember. There are also several in the U.S.

Oh yeah, with the economy the way it is, I would think that Ebay is not your best source as fluctuations in value will occur depending on who is actually watching your auctions. Don't forget to deduct consignment fees on the value of the figures it your friend decides to auction them off in the traditional manner too. I have a feeling that being collectable antiques, the other links mentioned above would be the best place to start. Oh, and waiting till the economy is booming if he can! lol

Tried doing a search on the treefrog forum. The random question you have to answer assumes an in-depth knowledge of WW1 and WW2 history. Gave up, couldnt be bothered.
