The title says it all – I'm looking to make or purchase some 28mm scale Olive trees and vineyards.

Can anyone suggest a manufacturer who already makes such things, or perhaps link to some existing articles or blogs that show off someone's successful builds of such things?

I'll be doing some fantasy/mythology Greek gaming (Wargods of Olympus!) soon, and I think that an ancient vineyard or olive grove would be a neat and unusual element to have on the table.

Thanks in advance!

I made vineyards…

…and a friend made me olive trees. Somewhat laboriously…

@Big Red, that's very nice stuff!

Foundry makes a set, and for once, I wouldn't pay the price. I'm a Foundry fanboy, and this set is absurdly expensive for what you get, imho.

Thanks Uesugi! LA, the Foundry grape pickers are nice, though, and you only need a couple to set a scratch-built vineyard off.

I have the Foundry set and like the grape pickers. I am unsure what the individual price is as I bought it through one of the "Ancient Civilian" bundle deals.

The Foundry grape vines are nothing special.

@BRB,

Outstanding work.

We do some scratch built ones to sell at shows. They're not on our website (yet..) but here is a picture

The figure is just to show the size. We have some in stock if your interested.

I got some from Scenic Express. They don't seem to offer what I have, it was from quite awhile ago. They do offer an O-scale vineyard. It's $15 USD for 6" length vineyard. Spendy, but nice.

I wish someone made premade olive trees but I've never seen them.

Scenic Express does olive trees. They are pricy but I pick them up a few at a time for my games set in Spain.

Item CA0502 Mediterranean Olive Tree 2 3/4 tall $7.99 USD

If I ever end up at a show with TheOtherOneFromTableScape I will pick up a few vinyards

Theotheronefromtablescape – I'm interested.

How much are they?

idontbelieveit02 Jul 2013 6:08 p.m. PST

@Sir Walter – thanks for that pointer. I hadn't seen it before. Does look a little spendy.

TheOtherOneFromTableScape03 Jul 2013 2:04 a.m. PST

Alxbates, I should have mentioned the price in my original post, and how to contact us, and perhaps the shipping costs…

They are £4.00 GBP each, shipping is at cost from UK to Alaska, contact me using the email on link

They are about 6" in length, in case you were wonering. We have 32 in stock as the moment, but if you wanted more (!) it takes about 10 days to make a batch.

Stunning work BigRedBat. I remember seeing those a while back and thought how great they looked.

BigRedBat … great work. I'd love to see how the larger spaced ones come out. I always fight with my crops, copses, and orchards to get them to provide reasonable visual cover yet still allow the fat fingered and clumsy (me) to move minis in them.

Thanks chaps! They turned out well.

For Olive Trees, check out a plant called Indian Hawthorn Root. Florists use it dried for arty floristry, but it forms shapes that are ideal for various forms of miniature plant life. I have a lovely WIP at home that is very Olive Tree like.
The GW plastic fantasy forest has really gnarly trees that are quite olive like but they are rather tall for olives (& the foliage provided is oak)

Where can you buy these "Creative Scenics" olive trees? I tried to Google search for the company and drew a blank.

Bowman10 Sep 2017 5:59 p.m. PST

It's Scenic Express and not Creative Scenics

They make mature Olive groves, may be a bit large:

And BigRedBat, nice vineyards. Actual pergolas and not the modern vineyards we are now used to.
