We're excited to announce the imminent release of a new hard plastic set – this time something a little different – Shipping Containers! These come two to a set – with six frames to make up three variations of containers: standard, enviro-unit/refrigerated container, or one with double doors that open on either end.
Great for SF, post apocalyptic, zombie, modern gaming, and more with bits that can be used to scratchbuild other structures. Our standard box set is $29.95 USD – but we also have multi-deals for 8, 20, and even 50 containers! The 50 container deal is $499 USD with free worldwide shipping – great for gaming clubs and shops – to literally build an entire cargo port on your table. It's a limited deal – until July 8th – and these will be shipping out the week of July 15th. You can check them all out here: Hard Plastic Shipping Containers l |

Perhaps I'm missing something here, while the large deals have a saving, it is cheaper to buy two direct from the manufacture, Rustforge. Anyhow, a supply of shipping containers is always welcome. |

You really need to be at least a supporting member to do stuff like this – very poor form. |

If I read it right
If you buy two containers (least number available), it looks like it comes out to $15 USD each, plus S&H. (Yes, it would be cheaper to buy 2 directly from rustforge.com) If you buy 8 or 20 containers, it's almost $12 USD each plus S&H. You don't get the $10 USD each discount unless you order the 50 pack for $499. USD It's going to be one of those "It's a great idea in theory", but much cheaper to acquire proxies and such and save the money for miniatures. |

Actually dglennjr – if you buy the 4-set (8 containers) or 10-set (20 containers) – or the 25-set (50 containers) – all those ship worldwide for free. It's only if you bought one box of two that you would be charged $5.95 USD (assuming you bought nothing else in the shop – since we have free shipping worldwide starting at a $99 USD purchase) The 50 container set is meant for clubs, shops, and groups of friends going in together – and the occasional inspired loaner who has a great idea for a table! We had people asking us about it so we made it available! ;-) |

Sorry guys but your pricing missed the mark on this one. I have 6, 1/43 semi trucks that I got for $12 USD each from "toys are us" (wheels chrome doors clear glass the works) Really just a short container should not cost more then $5.00 USD each. (and they are not even assembled and painted)

As for pricing
To be fair, once these hit the online shops, they'll be at least 20% off, which puts them exactly at the same price point as Rustforge. Of course, I think rustforge is pushing the limit as regards price also. If these were 6 bucks or maybe even 8, I'd probably have bought a couple by now, but at 12-15 bucks each, I'll look elsewhere. Still, the product is pretty good. One of our members bought a special 3 for $30 USD pack at adepticon and reviewed it here: link |

I like these containers, Have been looking around for ones to add or replace the AT43 ones I have. Also have been wanting to do a modern game on shipping docks. I have been buying different containers people have been producing as samples to figure out which one to go with. The only reason I have not bought these yet is because was waiting for rustforge to start selling. Have not really been promoting them self's. Also waiting to see if they would make deals and put up the dimensions of the product. Price is also a concern. Only reason know about them is because of the review on the Chicago skirmish site. I have bought other items from proxie models, Who is making them. Like the hard plastic using very durable. Adam |

Proxie models make their own products and these containers. Ken, the owner, has his own plastic injection equipment and his own CNC mold cutting apparatus rigged up from surplus machinery. I recommend everyone watch his video about how he does it. It's really a thing of beauty to behold and some of the most informative 8 minutes I've ever watched. proxiemodels.com/videos.html |

At $15 USD each they are out of my price range. Half that would have been a "buy". The problem is, you don't usually need just a few, you need a few dozen. Wish I had picked up more of the AT-43 containers when I had a chance. I' wondering what the Maki Containers will end up selling for in smallish to largish lots. They have a plain, a gothic, a sci-fi and a "tall" version shown on their fiully funded Kickstarter. link |
