Folks, can anyone fill me in to Black Tree Designs status as to contacting them and getting orders?
Placed an order back on the 7th June 2013 and still nothing has arrived.
Tried ringing several occasions and sent emails and the only success I've had is I got re-directed and put through to a voice mail box.
Does anybody know what's the score with them?
Have seen that some people have been making other noise about them too and not in a good way.
Also because of this can anyone recommend another manufacturer that does good dismounted WW2 tank crews?
Thanks

It's only been 3 weeks. You should allow at least 4 before before getting concerned.

Didn't they have one of their big sales back then? Things do slow down sometimes if they have a lot of orders to fill.

NickNorthStar28 Jun 2013 2:45 a.m. PST

Artizan do a nice set of US tankers

And some US tank characters

They don't do any German tankers, but the Panzer Lehr could do

5 months is my record with them

I think if you buy stuff in a sale then really you should allow a little longer . Also depending on the size of the order , some are cast to order which could result in delay.

I think as the Major has pointed out you should allow at the very least another week IMO.

Bashytubits28 Jun 2013 6:10 a.m. PST

My last order from a sale took them 7 months to fill it.

My last order from BTD US took about 2 weeks to deliver. There was even an error in my shipping address that they caught and fixed via email in 1 day. Based on this, I would expect a response in the time frame you have given.

for what it is worth, I have placed 2 small orders and 1 med. order over the last 6 months…got my goodies fast…no worries…sorry about your situation!

From what I have seen on the Black Tree threads here on TMP, Black Tree US has turned it all around and are getting stuff to people in record time. I haven't seen the same said for Black Tree UK…

Good luck, though! I hope they get your stuff to you soon.

Only a few weeks, I've been waiting years for some of the stuff
I ordered.

Huscarle28 Jun 2013 11:31 a.m. PST

I'm in the UK and it normally takes about a month from order date to BTD UK, & to arrive on my doorstep.

kevin smoot28 Jun 2013 11:41 a.m. PST

also Con season kicked off so the travel may have things backed up a little

The Gonk28 Jun 2013 12:21 p.m. PST

BTD USA was very responsive when I ordered in January.

coopman28 Jun 2013 12:36 p.m. PST

It would be really helpful if the people who start these threads would identify whether they are talking about BTD US or BTD UK.

darclegion28 Jun 2013 1:03 p.m. PST

well BTD and BTD UK are linked you know. BTD UK supplies BTD US.

I have never had a problem, been buying for about 10 years. John is a great guy. I remember him saying something like he usually gets back orders or out of stock items in about every 2 or 3 weeks, if he is out of something. Three weeks is nothing.

He is in El Paso, Texas but he get his stuff from the UK. So do the math.

I have had problems getting fast emails from them, but its because of there email system.

I placed two orders (one large; one small) in June to BTD USA. Both orders arrived in about two weeks. I always have great results from BTD USA.

Ravenasri28 Jun 2013 2:02 p.m. PST

Well folks, I'd like to say big thanks for all the response, appreciate it, am in UK for some of those posts who wanted to know.
I have ordered in the past and got stuff in a week like their site says under delivery. The fact I bought the stuff on sale never really occurred to me as a issue.
To those people waiting as long as you did (5months or more, what the hell, that's shocking).
Also, the last time I had to wait for anything this long was when I used to send the coupons off for things from the back of cereal boxes back when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's, in this day and age it really isn't on as far as am concerned, unless your so real basic sort of cottage industry one/two man show sort of thing.
So, the jist is hold out it seems so I'll do just that but again, thanks for all the posts and heads up.

Lordgoober28 Jun 2013 10:53 p.m. PST

I placed a couple orders right around June 7 myself during the US Infantry sale. I'm not overly concerned myself as Bolt Action is a back burner game for me at the moment as I'm still ramping it up.

Lordgoober02 Jul 2013 11:58 a.m. PST

got my email yesterday that my stuff was in the mail, depending on how the holiday screws things up mail wise, I should see my stuff well before the end of the 28 day window put on the invoice. I have no problems.

MajorB02 Jul 2013 2:21 p.m. PST

I believe BTD is just that.

ordinarybass05 Jul 2013 10:40 a.m. PST

I've had pretty good luck with BTD, but they aren't the best at keeping in touch. My first two orders went off fine. My third was a bit of a mixed bag.

I made an order and 2 days later inquired about adding some figures to it. It took them a week to get back to me. When they did, they let me know that there was a backordered item in my order, but they did give me the add-on at the now-expired sale price. The package arrived 2 weeks later.

I'm very happy with the end result and price paid, and once we talked they were very accommodating. However, it shouldn't take 9 days to let a customer know their product is backorderd.

In the end, I'll definitely order from them again. I like the figs, love their figs, prices and sales and I'm willing to be patient. If I can wait a few months for my figs to go on sale, I can wait a few weeks to get my order.

Lordgoober05 Jul 2013 6:53 p.m. PST

yeah. I'm waiting on their next WW2 vehicle sale to get more armor at this point.
