Khurasan miniatures has ordered Swatters paperbacks to sell them bundled with figures. They would like to know what you, the players, would like to see in a typical Swatters starter pack including forces for humans and bugs. Thanks!

Curufea26 Jun 2013 9:41 p.m. PST

What are Swatters paperbacks?

Ravenstar26 Jun 2013 9:43 p.m. PST

? same

Seriously, a link to what Swatters are would be nice. A google search just turns up this page. :)

I saw your username is Ganesh Games. ganeshagames.net does not have the word "Swatters" anywhere on the front page.

How's this sound:

Package a set to resemble a certain movie -

Two packs of the Exterminator Squad (TTC-2700) + the Lieutenant from the support set + the robotic guns (TTC-2702) + a couple of the Federal Citizens (armed and unarmed variants (two each from TTC-3002 and TTC-3009)

vs

24 space demon assault warriors (TTC-901 and TTC-901A)

Normal comes out to about $43 USD, sell it for $39.99 USD.

Maybe toss in a Hercules power loader too.

What Richard said.evil grin

An alternate would be the vacc-suited Exterminators for mucking around an asteroid mining facility (bugs don't need no stinkin' space suits!). That gives the human force player the added "bonus" of dealing with airlocks and explosive decompression hazards…evil grin

A set with the Federal Security forces, civilians, and scientists + Space Demons could be fun too, in a "man, we are so, so, SO VERY screwed" kinda way.

Richard Gaulding27 Jun 2013 12:01 a.m. PST

Ooh,ooh! Use The Infected ( youtu.be/l5aZJBLAu1E ) as part of a post-apoc themed pack, perhaps with Sepulvedan rebels playing the role of survivors or military spec forces trapped in The Facility of Doom!

Just to clear up the "what is Swatters?" question…

Never seen or even heard of swatter. Why not do a demo game on you tube I like new rule-sets!

khurasanminiatures27 Jun 2013 6:23 a.m. PST

Clarification -- I'm looking for bundle suggestions from people who actually play the game. grin

Then why post here? Better to post on a more narrowly focused forum, yes? Like that forum "The Three People Who Have Played Swatters." grin

Hmm guys, I have posted this on the Song of Blades forum, and since this is about a 15mm SF line, I thought it was a good idea to crosspost it here. The game has been out in PDF fro some time now and it is selling well, so I guess more than 3 people have tried it. A description of the game is on my site: link and you can read a review here: link and some playtest reps can be read here: link

What the hell? Why the name of God did I post a link to a Youtube video instead of the miniature pack I freakin' copies and pasted.

The internet is weird sometimes.

I think it was good you posted here. I don't play Swatters and probably won't* but I like to see what's going on between miniatures and rules companies.

*To avoid a question: I figure the game is not for me based on this description from the web site "SWATTERS is an infantry-centric game in which vehicles, gun emplacements and giant monsters play an occasional role." Which means to me I can't use all or many of my "toys" so I play another rule set that does. I'm not knocking the rules it's just marketed to others. Probably many others as I'm sure I'm not the norm.

Edit: I will be buying SWATTER in spite of what I wrote as I think it's important to buy all 15mm sci-fi rule sets and think the more there are the better.

TheRatGod27 Jun 2013 10:18 a.m. PST

well the vespulids dont use vehicles so they should be a first pacjkage choice

billthecat27 Jun 2013 10:25 a.m. PST

IIRC, 'Swatters' is more of a squad based game than a 'Space Hulk' game…? I have only seen pictures of the playtest games, however. Whatever the case, I think a bundle deal is a great idea: just make sure the bundle includes enough minis to really play the game (not just a scaled-down-pseudo-demo-version). Best wishes.

Because it's raining men, and you couldn't be happier. grin

SCAdian27 Jun 2013 1:15 p.m. PST

Does it have the same direct line movement as the SoBH game?

Ganesha Games Sponsoring Member of TMP27 Jun 2013 2:23 p.m. PST

Billthecat, yes it is a squad based game, one figure is one man but men do not act independently, they are removed as casualties and use CDs or minicds as movenment trays.

SCAdian yes, use the usual sticks. It us an action point system so if you want to go around corners or foes you need to use more than one action.

Admiral yi , I hope you will like it. I too try to push 15mm but in my area it is a losing battle. Plus, my aging eyes refuse to let me paint 15mm… Vehicles do not play an important role but the rules are so simple that it is easy to do a vehicle-centric scenario, just ignore the restrictions and use what you feel is good. I have played games with 4-5 tankss or APCs and similar huge monsters on the bug side and it worked.

SCAdian27 Jun 2013 3:57 p.m. PST

Ganesha Games,
Okay, thank you very much. I'll pass though.

Fritadas27 Jun 2013 10:35 p.m. PST

I think a single squad of exterminators (OR, possibly, exterminators in VAC suits), the support weapons pack, and 2-3 "squads" worth of bugs is a good start

Tgunner29 Jun 2013 7:00 a.m. PST

Why let the exterminators have all the fun? Neo-Soviet bug hunts anyone???

picture

two plasma type bazookas/RPGs, 2 heavy pulsers, and a missile launcher…, yeah, these boys can bug hunt.
