"In the spring of 1968, many in Washington believe that the war is already gold and become "unwinnable." U.S. troops engaged in Vietnam exceed 500,000 men and the American public begins to grumble. On March 31, in a speech broadcast live on television, President Johnson announced to everyone's surprise, he did not seek a second term.

On the ground, the Allied strategic priority is to restore control by the South Vietnamese government lost to enemy territories since the Tet offensive. A race then ensued between the NVA and Americans to establish a favorable balance of power as a result of the conflict and the Vietnamization looming on the horizon.

The operation "Cochise", launched in April over the whole of the 2nd Military Region (II Corps Tactical Zone), is part of a larger national campaign of "accelerated pacification" to intensify efforts to expand security in the countries.

In the coastal province of Binh Dinh, highly disputed territory since the beginning of the war, the situation remains uncertain for several months. Great looking terrain and models !

Wow, what a gorgeous looking game, and using terrain largely composed of store-bought fish-tank jungle and outdoor carpet grass! Has to be the best looking terrain-heavy wargame lay-out I've ever seen in which the terrain wasn't all custom-made from scratch. Very impressive!

A good friend of mine is about to embark on a French Indo-China campaign, and I definitely have to point him to this page and the French blog from which it came. Thanks for posting, Tango. I would never have seen it otherwise.
