I wish there had been more minis and info on Parthians when I made mine. I love the camels but I heard they were bad in combat because of their soft hooves.

Very small camels – most adult camels I have see are about twice that size – and yes I have ridden one!
If they do not kneel down there is a long way to jump!

Have to agree with the size comment.

For a company whose 15mm figures have been growing into 18s, those camels are more like 12s (or even 10s). I have seen bigger horses in their lines.

Perhaps they made the camels smaller so that they could fit on the bases more easily. They also have regular Parthian cataphracts.

Newly designed figures are somewhat smaller than the giants of a couple of years ago. I recently painted some of their newer Scythians, and they are beautiful figures.

I do have complaints with Xyston though. Their quality control appears to be non-existent. I have received packs of Republican Romans that were clearly miscast, with thick flash running all around the figure. And their comment that packs contain a random mix of figures may mean a random mix of exactly the same figures. This makes ordering single packs risky, as you might get four figures that you don't want.

But I guess one can overlook these problems when their figures look like this (not mine):

I think the scale creep was pretty much fixed after their Roman infantry came out.

its not been an issue with any figures I have seen since then.

I can't think of anyone with taller camels either.

What I would say though, is that it would be nice to get unarmoured camels on offer – I've seen some pretty heated debates about whether armoured camels were ever used in battle, so the option should be available.

And apparently, Parthyans and Parthians are not the same – I recall being corrected on this here a few years ago.

On the other hand, if the Parthian range does work – and it probably needs another paid of figures and a general at least to do that, maybe Xyston will do a Marian Roman range to fight them
- Coruvs' Marians, as we discussed, is far too small to be acceptable, and someone should fill the gap with quality figures.

Xyston has an empty folder for Parthian commanders and infantry, so presumably we will get some of each. Also needed is a true Parthian horse archer. Currently, they only offer the Parthian pack from the Achaemenid range.
