Grand negus Zek – the ear hair alone is worth an award. (Or maybe JUST the ear hair is worth on award, either way)

Got to be Tribbles. Besides being cute and cuddley they give rise to so many great lines.
"Near as I can tell, these things are born pregnant!"
"…where there'll be no tribble at all."

For scary things; the Horta.

I don't know what it was called but I liked the one horned ape they did as a tribute to the Flash Gordon serials with the Sacred Orangopoid played by Ray "Crash" Corrigan.

I'm taking "creature" to be a more or less individual creation rather than a race-otherwise I would say Borg.

The silicon-based Horta, if only because it leads into McCoy's best line ever, "I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer."

Let's "hear" it for the Ceti eel, the only surviving indigenous life form on Ceti Alpha V. You know, Khan's pet…

I third the Horta! – gotta love a silicon life form!

Tribbles. They're very perceptive creatures.
