Do you believe you can use "the power of the mind" (to quote a line from "Fire and Ice") to influence or predict die rolls? The Oakland Raiders had a player in the 70s who claimed to be able to "see" the results of the coin flip ahead of time – and was right more often then chance would suggest. DO you believe: 1) you can influence in a positive way 2) You can influence in bad way with "negative waves" 3) Not influence so much as predict 4) Nah, that is utter drivel Personally, I kind of believe number two |

4. Because they always roll a "1" for me, no matter what I yell

1 and 2, I've seen it happen. |

Nope! There have been times when I've thought nothing but nice things about the dice, others when I've threatened to smash 'em with a sledgehammer, and still they've ended up "1" I have managed to roll dice three times over the years, and have them stop on a corner twice and an edge once. Does that count for anything? |

It has to be 4. I'm a professional statistician, I believe in probability theory, which tells me events like die rolls* are random. If there are "magical" influences on the results, all the math goes out the window. * – yes, I've seen the guys on Youtube who can roll any number they want. That isn't random, and if one of them got into one of my games I would make them use a dice tower. |

Nope! There have been times when I've thought nothing but nice things about the dice, others when I've threatened to smash 'em with a sledgehammer, and still they've ended up They're obviously talking amongst themselves, I suggest that you use *disappearances" instead of threats when dealing with future dice dissidents (diceidents?) to prevent unrest in your dice bag. "Reeducation" bags may also be an option. |

I've had some "spooky" occurences with dice. A couple of years ago I was in a convention game and my teammate across the table needed to roll 6 on a d6 for a hit. I just said "boxcars" as the dice left his hand, and they both came up sixes. That's not spooky. What is spooky is when the other side took a shot at me during the same turn and I said "snake eyes" and they came up! I do believe in spooks. Bob |

1 and 2. I've had this unreasonable belief for some time. |

Although I agree with Mserafin, I have to choose 1&2 because in over 30 years of gaming, I have personally witnessed both. Of course, MY dice always roll low when I need high and high when I need low, but I've seen and played with/against other players who eerily seemed to be able to pull off positive and negative rolls at will. Weird stuff. |

Sometimes I think it's attitude more than anything else. Some guys never note when their dice are hot but cry bloody murder when they are cold. That said, I know some guys who do roll a lot of crap dice. I roll in streaks – sometimes hot, sometimes cold, once in a while by the odds. I call a roll with no-hits "Quaker dice". Of course, not every die roll is the same. Sometimes the game hangs on it. Other times it isn't very important at all. I've also seen guys who couldn't get a hit but pass every morale roll, and vice-versa. |

I had a friend who used to say "I curse your die" and then people would roll snake eyes for their rolls (snake eyes are very bad in that game). He did that to me and I rolled snake eyes, I then cooly looked him in the eye and said "I curse your die" where he then proceeded to roll snake eyes and I won the melee because my troops were pointed higher than his, tee hee. All of this occurring whilst our other friends watched in amazement. |

In my last game against my 11 year old – needed sixes. So with all of my negative waves – I rolled one six out of 30 dice. Earlier in the game, when I was thinking anything but a six is good – I rolled five sixes in a row (Yahtzee!) |

I've had dice lice for years. Once out of every 10,000 games I roll well, that's the dice just keeping me interested. Sometimes when my dice luck is so wretched that it literally can't get any worse, my opponent's rolls get luckier to increase the devastation. |

I dont believe in dice Karma, but I do get wierd occurances when playing WW2 Italians: If I shout "Avanti Savoia!" at the top of my voice before rolling a dcie, it will be a 6. Every single time
