Our Crew is bringing the largest Pirate game in the New World to the Virgina Colonies to be run for two sessions on Saturday the 20th of July. 700 square ft of playable Terrain containing 14 separate island locations, 22 ships, 6 game masters, and all the elements of an epic Caribbean adventure. Using the "Fist Full of Seamen" rule set, this sandbox-style-game puts you at the helm of your captains destiny collecting gold and glory to become the most notorious scalawag on the high seas. The two sessions will be held at 11am with any experience gained to be used for the 5pm session later that evening.
Check out the blog for more pictures, list of ships, or the Pod Cast of the misadventures of the Muse on Mini's guys'.

Fifteen men on the dead man's chest-- Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum! Drink and the devil had done for the rest-- Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!

Arrr, 'tis a fine lookin' vessel, an' a good game, to be sure.

Afraid de trade winds an' distance are agin me.

Plunder well me hearties!!!

Let me get this straight. Doing the math, one 6 x 2.5 foot table is fifteen square feet. 700 square feet would be more than FORTY-SIX tables! If they were lined up with the 6-foot sides touching, it would be one table One Hundred and Sixteen Feet Long! That's just crazy! Good Luck you Mad Fools!

45thdiv07 Jun 2013 11:19 a.m. PST

Now that is going to be cool to see.

CommanderCarnage07 Jun 2013 11:43 a.m. PST

I think it's the same game that is run at recruits. It is visually spectacular.

wingnut07 Jun 2013 12:32 p.m. PST

Commander Carnage is correct. Recruits hosted for us 4 times. We really appreciate the hospitality they provided, Duane and Nick are good folks. This year we decided that we would like to bring the fun to the east coast, put on an outstanding event and, shoot some Rum at the bar afterwards with the players. Recruits is held in a high school and have some neglect in the Rum ration.

Fistvarty 1979,
Table surface:
three runs of tables that are 8ft by 28ft that make up the central sea zone between the Islands of the governors. There are runways for people to reach their ships in between the tables. (24ft by 28ft not including walkways.672 sq ft)
One 8ft by 8ft Pirate island, only accessible by the brethren and their smuggler accomplices.(64 sq.FT.)
The Lost Mayan Pyramid adventure with misting waterfall is on a 6ft by 4ft table (24sq ft)
Cannibal island is on an 8ft by 4ft table. (32 sq ft.)
the total is really 792 sq.ft.
It changes based on the amount of room the convention allots us.

As I see it, you are John Silver, Captain Kid, and Black Beard all rolled into one; simply the pirate best. As a rather aging California boy, I made what will probably be my one and only pilgrimage to Historicon last year. It was a wonderful experience, but I wish your Crew had made the voyage that year. I'll look forward to seeing the pictures. Richard

Richard,
I'm honored you believe so, but your work is awe inspiring and I have borrowed wonderful ideas from your site:
warin15mm.com/Pirates.html
Well worth a look for those who haven't been to War in 15's gallery.
Wish there was a way to get our work in the same place.

Wingnut,
I've registered for your 5pm game. Couldn't sign up for the 11am game as I'm helping GM a large Command Decision game that also begins at that time.
I've long admired photos & recounts of your FFOS Pirate game at Recruits & now's my chance to participate!
I want to be prepared as much as possible & in that vein I've attempted to download the "flow charts" rules listed on your blog site. However when I enlarge them, sufficient
definition is lost & they are illegible. Can you help?
And, oh yes--I hereby lobby for command of the HMS Titan Uranus.:)

Jerry,
Email me from the link on The FFoS site. It will be in the profile of Caveat Huckster. I'll set you up. Understand that the 11am game is mostly mechanics, not the full game we normally run. It's a crazy fast chase for gold and glory teaching players how to fight, sail and manuver. The evening game has so many plot elements in it I can't keep up with them all. I really love to hear the stories after the game, I encourage anyone interested to check out the pod cast from Recruits that Muse on Minis did about their game experience. Episode 50, or follow the link from our site.

I will be stuck in the dealer hall all day otherwise I'd love to sign up for this. Great looking stuff guys!

wingnut09 Jun 2013 8:48 a.m. PST

@ Evil Bob,
If you get a break or after the hall closes swing by. It's a circus to watch and we may have a spare spot.

Wingnut.

Played in the first game at Historicon, it was……AWESOME….the amount of detail on the ships and especially the islands was fantastic. Rules were quick to learn but realistic and the guys putting it one were great … and very patient. Definately the best game I've played at a convention in a long time. Talked to the folks that played the second game (different scenario) and it sounded even better!!! Won best in show I think, and was well deserved.

IronMarshal21 Jul 2013 3:29 p.m. PST

Awesome game. I enjoyed talking to you guys the night before the game. Your tales of your journey to get there deserve to be told here. The heater core and tires…..

Thank you for your efforts in putting this game together and taking it to Historicon. Your game was the highlight of the con, and there were many excellent efforts as usual.

demiurgex22 Jul 2013 4:03 a.m. PST

Really great guys running this game – they saw me and my 7 year old son looking at the layout the night before, and invited us behind the ropes for a quick tour. The gentleman in question gave me some great pointers on shaping styrofoam, and my kid was stuck at the 'Wow, Dad look at this!' stage for quite some time, lol. Unfortunately we couldn't get into the game – I'll know to prioritize it if I am lucky enough to attend a con where its been running in the future.

Hats off to the gentlemen for an awesome game, it was the talk of the con all weekend!

ARMY Strong22 Jul 2013 11:30 a.m. PST

Wingnut who makes the split ship on the island I saw your game very nice.

Katzbalger25 Jul 2013 3:50 p.m. PST

Played in the 11 AM game and even though I was the first knocked out (pirate trying to board a Spanish SOL is not the best way to go), I had a blast. Very neat, and what a spectacle!

Congratulations Wingnut. We haven't done much improvement on the other side of the pond.

wingnut26 Jul 2013 12:39 p.m. PST

Patrice,
Your game is still my sister game. It's all good, just keep playing. I will post this weekend after I get my department back in shape after my absence at the University. Everyone please stay tuned.

GREAT GAME camarade,

What you need to board that Spanish SOL is the Ghost SHip with 374 souls!! Works every time.
