I found that quite funny.:) Our cat will jump up onto the gameing table but TBH she is very nimble and rarely knocks any models . |

Not quite cats in wargames, but we used them as terrain in a Sci-fi space battle game. Back in the late 70's and early 80's we used to play the Star Fleet Battle Manual game and Alien Space. The games uses models you moved around on the floor and fishing line to line up shots. The fishing line was irresistible to the cats in the house, and they would often run up, grab a fishing line and drag the models off to other parts of the house. We dubed them "Space warps" and where ever you got dropped, you had to 'fly' back to the battle from. The laughs we got from my friend having his heavy Fed cruiser dropped in the back yard and making him 'fly' it back in through the cat door was priceless. |

If you want your cat to provide a real surprise use an uncovered sand table. Your guests will find surprises and fun under every dune! |

A cat jumping on the wargame table would just be another reason to get the rifle out. |

And aim it at you? I seriously doubt it. Around where I live I shoot cats all the time. Townies dump unwanted pets out in the countryside and they become feral. They are pests – the townies and the feral cats. |

I'd shoot the townies then. No way I could shoot a cat, or a dog
Sorry you can't take em in, cat's are great friends & companions. Peter |

Never had an issue with Cats and Wargames. Rabbits on the other hand
.we've got one who gets very excited when I set up a game on the floor, I suppose to him all that greenery looks like some kind of indoor garden, and all the scenery has to be taste-tested. Last time he ran off with a WSS dragoon. It was however just a feint; I found it abandoned behind the sofa and he'd doubled back to steal the tape measure! The Other rabbit doesnt interfere with games. He just climbs onto my painting table and throws models against the book shelves

I manage to keep my cats away from the wargames. But I must be cautious with some other friends who also would like to come into the house.
I was a bit shocked by Brian's post, till I noticed that it's about New Zealand, yes, I heard that cats are a real problem for wildlife there. |
