Title basically says it. The figures could be similar to the plastic toy soldiers but I prefer not to deal with anymore soft plastic figures. I have some martians who need opponents.

Get Ww2 US infantry. The equipment was the same as the early 1950's

And B-movie infantry were that much more likely to just be wearing surplus from the last war picture the studio made.

Brigade games might have what you need in their Atomic Cafe range. The US Defence Force packs are on the last page, but there might be other stuff for you in the range too.

Definitely agree with Paul-- go with Brigade's Atomic Cafe US Infantry. I have them and they are great sculpts and really look like 50's era troops (which are pretty darn different to WW II era ones!).

If you are going "legit" 1950's B-movie, then you can't go wrong with the WW2 fig's minus any helmet camo.

While not accurate for ACTUAL 1950's servicemen, the 1950's "B-movie extra Hollywood" US Army and National Guard troopers used surplus WW2 vehicles, weapons and kit as their props.

Both Warlord and Wargames Factory have 28mm hard plastic WW2 Americans.

The U.S. Army didn't undergo a massive uniform or small arms change until around 1958 so any figures suitable for late WW2 and the Korean war will suffice. Make sure the infantry are wearing M1943 uniforms with boots instead of boots and gaiters.

Any WW2 will work.
Since this is for a "B-Movie" style game, I don't think historical accuracy is that important! wink

That's an understatement if ever I heard one.

WWII US Army is good. Korean War US Army is better. The Ridgeway Cap and the large two part bazooka is very post war. They also use a number of recoilless rifles and even the M14 rifle, but the M1 was in service until at least 1980 in some units. Helmet netting is pretty much WWII but cloth helmet covers are good post war. There are a lot of experimental weapons in the pipeline so don't be afraid to give them anything as a one off or for a single squad. Good luck.

You need to have 2 BARs per squad, other than that, there is little difference in organization. The Warlord plastics give you choices of kit, so that you can add what you need. For 1950s movies, they probably wouldn't have had full kit, so that's a bonus.
