Ok, so I am getting ready to launch a new campaign for our group. I am the CA(Campaign Master), so I run the NPC armies and the big End Boss type Necromancer Army. While building my army, I saw this over at Splintered Light:

I am thinking of adding 2 of these bad boys to the army that guards the Emerald Gate. I am thinking Monster with Rampager and Magic resistance.

You have to go through a Canyon about 9" wide to get to the Gate, so I see these as "group" busters. Thoughts? How would you counter? These won't be revealed until they are within 12" of the gate.. or they deploy scouts.

Wow, that's cool! It sounds like it would be quite tough, much less two of them.

I have been working on a wagon machine too. I own a 15mm Blood dawn goblin war wagon. I am replacing the Goblins with ratmen. It will be pulled by two Rat Ogres and has two warpfire cannons on it. Not sure how to rate it up though. I like machines! I have the big Dwarven war wagon from Black Raven Foundry and need to rate it up too.

My oldest Sean received his new three painted armies yesterday. Mummy Kings and Dark Elves from you. High Elves from Alternative armies. It has a griffin and some extras. I added a 7 headed Hydra to the Dark Elves along with some DE Raptor riders. Some cool battles should follow before too long!

Thanks,

John

I'm going to use them to tear through the belt of defensive plants protecting wood elf settlements.

Pterasaurs with riders dropping boulders on them should do the trick

Yes, but hard to hit the wheels unless you come in at right angle. The skellies can be reanimated.

Bind and charge with heavy cav. Even if you only rout it, bound units are destroyed when they are forced to retreat, and you can keep your heavy cav out of the Monsters charge range until they are ready to attack.

I'm thinking that wheel of pain might be good for my Mighty Armies 6mm not-Warhammer setting, it seems not-Skaven. Are the skeletons separate figures or attached? If the latter, I can probably call them animated giants.
