Part of my cheap fantasy minis: good, not great, minis on a budget:
The photo quality of the final models is because our newer camera broke, so I had to use the lower-res one. I put together a basic tutorial for building these guys. Part 1 covers modding existing figures to create the zombies:
Part 2 covers very, very basic painting techniques:
And Part 3 covers using the dip method and other finishing touches:
By the way, if anyone can solve the problem of too-think dip, please leave a comment! |

Nice looking figures 123Mac. I'll be keeping an eye on your blog now. I've been doing LotR on the cheap. Have not done anything with it since the December/January time frame but plan on picking it up again soon. |

Thanks Joker! I'll keep an eye out for your project. We got a replacement camera, so I updated my post with some slightly better shots:

Love 'em, keep up the great work. Nothing better than getting cheap or 'free' minis from the bits box. I made my Genestealer Magus from Green stuff and spare Hybrid parts, fantastic as you can't buy them anymore. Thanks for the step by step, I have 28mm but can apply the same methods, awesome, pics when they're all painted if you please?! A |

Thanks Ark! They're as painted as they're going to be: you can see them lineup style here. They're a little on the dark side because my dip is now way too thick. I'm going to try thinning it with just a dollup of Naphtha solvent before I use it again. |
