Hello all last night myself and a couple of the lads played another colonial game, this time it was the Belguims fighting the Mahdist forces in a re-match of the Battle of Rejjaf 17 February 1897. I have posted up a few images of the games so please enjoy the photos.

Base size for the Belgians is 40 x 40mm and the Mahdist forces 80 x 50 or 40mm |

I'm planning to rebase my Belgians on 40 X 40s for 'Death in the Dark Continent'. Although it specifies a 60mm base width, I feel that 40mm works much better with the trails that are such an important feature of DA terrain. Once again, an impressive effort, Nathan. Did you purchase a Foundry Belgian horde at some point? Also, what's your source for the khaki breeches on some of the askaris? As far as I know, khaki didn't start appearing until WW1. |

No brought the askaris from Foundry last year when you were able to purchase the single packs and they were also offering one of their discounts – buy 3 and get the 4th free etc. The khaki askari was painted units were not painted by me, but uniforms wear out on campaign so local cloth could have been used to replace his old ones. |
