I've picked up a Hovercraft model in 28mm (from Old Crow, very excellent model) and also have some Humvees and other light vehicle types.
Most have roof hatches (and those that don't will be getting them) – can anybody recommend a good source for weapons to mount for use by the roof hatch gunner – I'm thinking .50 Cal HMG's or a near future equivalent.
Recommednations welcomed….

Auto grenade launchers

You might check the various GW "bitz" vendors online.

A heavy stubber would be your .50 cal. analog. A heavy bolter would do nicely for an automatic grenade launcher. Being plastic, any extraneous "skullz" or eagles can easily be removed.

.50 cal or minigun with grenade launcher and a targetting array and maybe lots of smoke launchers like the Stryker has.

TAG has oodles of modern weapons packs, Imprint has a .50/Mk 19/TOW triple, Eureka has GMG & Milan, CompanyB does 'turrets'… can't think of others off-hand, but that should get you started.

More future MG3/4 but have a look at Hasslefree minis, they also do a great minigun.

If you are looking for oversized equipmenty, there are 1/35 and 1/32 "weapon" model kits that have some good stuff in them for cheaper than most GW stuff. The good news is that GW Heavy Stubbers are basically M2 .50 MGs in 1/32 or so.

If you are looking for something a little more realistic, spare parts from 1/48 model kits would work as well. Or, even better (depending upon what aesthetic you are going for) weapons from the PSC Russian Heavy Weapons set might work well for you.

I would expect some kind of auto-GL (with multiple feeds). Whether that's the Russkie AGS30 30mm, or the US XM307 25mm doesn't really matter.

In fact, that's my general installation for remote weapons stations. A manned pintle might be a 'conventional' MG (slightly smaller caliber for lighter ammo), but mostly I assume minigrenades everywhere.

Boy will I ever have something for you! Not available at the moment though.

@ khurasanminiatures
Sounds interesting. When you are restocked I think I'm going to be after a Caiman and a Polecat in 28mm.

Khurasan, don't suppose you could give a spoiler?

The 28mm versions of our federal army SHMG and Heavy Anti-Material Missile Launcher -- all cast up from 3D designs. Just need to get them painted and will put them up for sale.

Hope it's out soon, the heavy machine gun looks interesting.

D'oh forgot about the Old Crow mounts ironic 'cos I've used stacks, as an extra detail add Zinge Industries ammo feed belts.
