Love your painting, but could I make a suggestion? Edward Bruce would be wearing the arms of the Earl of Carrick, not a blue lion.

It would indeed be easier, but life is grim and hard! Edward Bruce would definitely want to advertise his status as an earl.
I don't know where the sheet above comes from, but it's very doubtful that Angus Og was at Bannockburn at all. None of he contemporary writers mention him and there is a school of thought that suggests Angus would have spent summer 1314 on the west coast to prevent reinforcements coming from Ireland.
