This is either a Crimson Fist command squad with Ultramarine shoulder badges, or more likely an Ultramarine command squad carrying the wrong standard.

But the paint job is pretty good. :)

Maybe the ultramarines have just nicked it of some passing crimson fists……… What a shame a nice paint job ruined by a silly fluff mistake.

Is this the fantasy version of a disagreement over the size of yer bricoles ?

The Beast Rampant25 May 2013 3:15 a.m. PST

They're clearly heretics, as they mock The Emperor's Righteous Seating Chart.

Pijlie25 May 2013 4:09 a.m. PST

I take it you're not called Fanatik for nothing…..

I will happily be frankly appalled if you will kindly explain why I should be.

However, if like me you find 40K inherently silly…

haywire25 May 2013 7:07 a.m. PST

OFM,

(in case you are not being sarcastic)

Really, the only problem is the standard bearer. He is carrying the wrong Chapter's standard.

If they were Crimson Fist's, the red fist logo on the standard would be on one of the shoulder pads and their left hand would be the same red colour.

Instead, they all have the white Ultra symbol on their shoulder pad. Althought they are the right color blue for Crimson Fists, I like my ultramarines the same darker blue.

Maybe he is just carrying it to hand it back to them?

Maybe they stole the standard in a Fraternity prank. We all know what fun loving guys these Space Marines can be.
They'll be laughing about it at the kegger Saturday night.

All the Napoleonic criminals have been rounded up so the Paint Police have moved on to the 40K players…

Sir Walter Rlyeh25 May 2013 1:26 p.m. PST

Well the Napoleonic Wars actually happened so at least the Paint Police on that front are just acting like scholars.

Space Monkey25 May 2013 1:56 p.m. PST

I've had similar gruntles dissed over my painting my Dark Angels black instead of green… and that's not even going off the reservation.

Pictors Studio25 May 2013 2:00 p.m. PST

"Well the Napoleonic Wars actually happened so at least the Paint Police on that front are just acting like scholars."

Pretty sure that real scholars don't know crap about uniform details most of the time.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER25 May 2013 3:15 p.m. PST

meh.

Dan Wideman II25 May 2013 6:15 p.m. PST

Uh oh, and now the Napoleonic color wars have spilled over!!

Jay Arnold25 May 2013 7:28 p.m. PST

Units today steal each others' guidons. Why wouldn't they 37,983 years from now?

BigNickR25 May 2013 9:05 p.m. PST

I painted my space marines (from a paint set someone gave me) pink and gave them to an 8 year old girl… She loved her "skull robots".

She's 16 now and plays mostly Pathfinder, but still has her 5 "skull Robots".

/I got nothing bad to say about the guys painting. It's a fair bit better than mine.

//I still like the simple honesty of "Skull Robots"

This is how I look at it, my figures, my paint.

40K fluff is like Orwellian "New Speak", it changes to suit the current denizens at the GW HQ … Been observing 40K since '90 … played a few games … collecting Epic since then. No so much for the fluff but the figures … believe me they make it up as they go along … Back in the day Robots were in the GW 40K inventory … now gone and have been for over a decade it seems. No Robots in Sci-fi ? Bleeped text !?!?!

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP26 May 2013 6:03 a.m. PST

OPPS !! Double post !!! Must be the ghosts of robots in the machine ! huh?

Pictors Studio26 May 2013 6:54 a.m. PST

"This is how I look at it, my figures, my paint."

That will work for you, but if you want them to be someone else's figures you'd better make sure you paint them the way they want, as is the case with this person.

kallman26 May 2013 8:06 a.m. PST

Wow! We really ALL need to get out more. grin

Scenery Basics26 May 2013 1:04 p.m. PST

Robots like these:

About halfway down.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP26 May 2013 1:53 p.m. PST

Oh I see … they are reduxing a robot … of course back in the Heresy (according to their fluff) there were at least 5 different Robot types … I have them all in Epic scale (the last 4 rows) …

picture
I'm going to do some work on those base …
