Hi Folks

Have just bought a platoon + worth of these beauties, partially to add some characters to the mainly Peter Pig and BF mid-war cavalry and motorised infantry units I'm building, and partially to put together a partisan platoon for skirmish rules. Does anyone have good pics of these guys p[ainted up. Also I have the book Defiance about the Bielski partizans (bought years long before the film came out), does anyone else have good references for Soviet/Polish partizans and German security troops.. Uniform pics, OOB info etc.

Many thanks TMPer's

James

I have a good Osprey book about they artisans in Russia. I don't have it handy the moment, but can get the title etc for you later.

OOB is by the definition of partisan warfare, a bit dodgy. They fought with what they could get, in Russia that was a mix of Soviet and German weapons, with a smattering of western lend leae materiel.

As for clothes, I would use predominantly Russian colors for any military clothing, with a smattering of German colors. As for civilian clothing, I would lean towards browns and blacks with a few white shirts tossed in.

Try and get 'Come and See', Russian film about partisan warfare. It will give you some good ideas about clothing etc but be warned, it's pretty harrowing and a bit too arty for it's own good in places. link
