I saw VTT mentioned in hobby news TMP link and I am intrigued. What is it? Can I run adventures on the internet with it?

Take a look at Roll20.net designed for RPGs but could easily do some miniatures games. I'm thinking I could do either skirmish or a game with @ a dozen units per side
