I was thinking about starting a wargaming club in Haywards Heath, or maybe Burgess Hill.

I've got as far as creating a brief webpage so far with a survey link to gauge local interest. I'm planning on posting some flyers up in GW stockists in the area.

If anyone has any other ideas about raising interest in a new club then please share them.

I appreciate that you might have personal reasons for starting up your own club, but in case it would help to save you "reinventing the wheel", there are two quite large clubs already in the Crawley area and one each in Horsham and East Grinstead, that may cover your location:

I don't belong to any of these, btw, so no axe(s) to grind. All look like they're within 30 minutes' drive of HH/BH.

Thanks Supercilius.
I have looked at the local clubs. They are 30 minutes drive away you are correct, but not everyone drives.

I am collecting information on the demand for a new club at the moment. If it transpires that the clubs in the surrounding area cater for most people's needs then I will not persue it any further. I have no agenda for forming a club beyond wanting to enjoy our hobby and encourage new players.

Yes, sorry – did assume the driving thing, there!

Good luck.

Don't forget the Brighton Wargames Club – we're on the northern edge of the city in Patcham – easy access from the A23 and only 15mins drive from Burgess Hill :)

I've just joined the forum and noticed your post. I was wondering if you received much of a response? Regards Tim
