Batch production, and higher sales than expected. A new batch of the basic game's just reached the UK, and I think a new production run of the Y and Advanced are due to reach us shortly. |

You can still find some of the original expansion wings in stores, just not online. The second wave pops up here and there in stores, when scalpers haven't snatched 'em. I hate scalpers. These are the s that screwed us all out of the Titanium ships. But I don't buy from them anyway, and they'll lose money big time when the next shipment comes in. FFG ain't Hasbro— they know when they've got a niche market winner, and they'll supply the market as fast as they can. |

I was checking out the News section on FFG's site earlier today and noticed that Wave 1 ships are all set to be reprinted this month and the Wave 2 stuff is scheduled for third quarter. |

Try branches of Forbidden Planet. They seem to have plenty of stock. Got hold of the A Wing and Tie Interceptor yesterday in there. |

For the same reason you can't find 9mm ammo at Walmart. Some kind of govt conspiracy!! |

Yep, soon they will be rationing X-Wing fighters here in the USA, so we'll be dependent upon them to keep us happy, as well as healthy. A cunning, evil plot, which could only be thought up by an evil empire
Can't find Tie Interceptors or A-Wings in my area. |

Triple Helix Wargames (UK) had a few ships and box sets today in the store. |

Fantasy Flight Games is a card company, not a miniatures company. As such they don't see the minis as playing pieces, but as; *quote* "Collector's Items". This means that they are produced in very limited runs. They aren't aimed at games players, but at Collectors (ie, put everything in storage and never open the shrink wrap) who buy all the production and force prices up. It was precisely this issue that killed off Wings of War and only the direct intervention of the designers buying back the rights to it that allowed it to reappear as Wings of Glory. |

I was just in the local B&N today, with a 15% off coupon. I'd bought a Y-wing from them just last weekend (another coupon), and at that time they had about 8 of the original expansion sets and two core games. Today they had zilch, though several items still showed up in the inventory. After checking the back, the employee said, "Maybe they walked out the door." It's possible that people snapped these up yesterday and the inventory wasn't updated yet (seems like an inefficient inventory system, but I know beans about that). There was certainly no shelf space where they had been— it was full of Star Wars and Marvel character plushies. Guess I'll be checking with the FLGS, which has had a few of the old ones, at least, and has been getting very small shipments of Wave Two recently (they ask for six and get three
). |

A shop i got most of my X-Wing stuff from said they thought the manufacturers were limiting releases to make people buy when they were available in case they became unavailable! This same shop had piles of Slave 1s and Millenium Falcons, which sort of kyboshed their argument though! |

B&N in the US is the place for Wave 1. I'm pretty sure the one closest to my house has all they Y-Wings made. Still haven't found any Wave 2 there though. The B&N near work actually had X-wings (until I snatched them) and Tie Advanced. Like Parzival said, very hit and miss most of the time and between B&N stores. Plus you gotta love B&N discount coupons. |

I found some at Target a few weeks ago. So I got a few more A-wins and TIE Ints.

Huh, I thought Target only stocked the core sets
anyone else had any luck with the expansions there? |
billclo | 06 May 2013 6:34 p.m. PST |
Only seen core sets at the local Target. |

Mine had the expansions near the front in the baseball card area near the check outs. Try there.

Nothing but the core set comes up on Target's website, and Google searches. Strange that you found them there. I'll check Target in person and report back. |

I've heard that the Target in Smyrna, Tennessee has the first wave expansion sets. However, I can confirm that the Targets in Franklin, Cool Springs, and Brentwood do not carry them, and I suspect the one in Nashville West doesn't. Not sure about Spring Hill, TN, as that's a "SuperTarget," or Murfreesboro (which has the potential sales benefit of being a college town). But it seems odd to me that the targets serving the most affluent county and towns in TN don't have them! Surely you send stuff where the money is? |

No X-Wing expansions at the Hanover PA Target; only the Core Set. However there is a local comic store that has some of the Wave 1 ships left; I bought about half of what they had for sale. |
