Posted on this a while back, but I am slowly building a bunch of what-if ships for a hypothetical Jutland 1944 scenario. These are in the latter stages of painting:

picture

Battleship Sachesen modernised – mostly scratchbuilt with a few Revell parts, with the armored ship Moltke in the backgroud – same method.
picture

Z-50 up front – this is a totally speculative scratchbuilt deep ocean destroyer designed to accompany heavy ships on long duration breakouts. O Class battlecruiser Roon – scratchbuilt with some Revell parts is in the middle, and a totally scratchbuilt "Alsace", the ex French Gascogne in the background.
picture

Superior Models Admiral Scheer up front, scratchbuilt H-39 class Hindenburg next, with Revell Scharnhorst and Bismarck in the rear
picture

Scratchbuilt M class light cruiser in the front and mostly scratchbuilt Mackensen behind.

Just Brits & Fritz? US carrier support vs Luftwaffe? Sneaky Soviets?

You have a talent for model shipbuilding, sir. Magnificent work.

As usual, your work is outstanding! I too am looking forward to seeing the RN.

This have given me a new idea for a new project in 1/3000. Damn you sir!

Where did you get the ideas for the updated WW1 ships?

Very nice indeed. Fascinating. I've always wondered what might have happened without the Washington and London treaties. (Also without a Versailles treaty.) This is one very good answer.
