Posted on this a while back, but I am slowly building a bunch of what-if ships for a hypothetical Jutland 1944 scenario. These are in the latter stages of painting:
Battleship Sachesen modernised – mostly scratchbuilt with a few Revell parts, with the armored ship Moltke in the backgroud – same method.
Z-50 up front – this is a totally speculative scratchbuilt deep ocean destroyer designed to accompany heavy ships on long duration breakouts. O Class battlecruiser Roon – scratchbuilt with some Revell parts is in the middle, and a totally scratchbuilt "Alsace", the ex French Gascogne in the background.
Superior Models Admiral Scheer up front, scratchbuilt H-39 class Hindenburg next, with Revell Scharnhorst and Bismarck in the rear
Scratchbuilt M class light cruiser in the front and mostly scratchbuilt Mackensen behind. |

Just Brits & Fritz? US carrier support vs Luftwaffe? Sneaky Soviets? |

This have given me a new idea for a new project in 1/3000. Damn you sir! Where did you get the ideas for the updated WW1 ships? |

Very nice indeed. Fascinating. I've always wondered what might have happened without the Washington and London treaties. (Also without a Versailles treaty.) This is one very good answer. |
