Numerous people have confirmed this with GW. They are no longer making new models for the above ranges and stock seems to vary from zero to a dozen or so in each of the regional GW's with many items already OOP. |

Fortunately there are ~100billion alternative figures to use for Mordheim. |

The loss of BB is a shocker

Rope a dope?? Is GW so cynical as to announce the death of these product lines, clear out the back stock, then say due to popular demand they are bringing back limited editions of them?? |
Prince Rupert of the Rhine | 01 May 2013 7:19 a.m. PST |
To be fair if you've got a copy of the rules there are loads of proxie miniatures (dare I say better than the orginals)avaliable out there. |
Schulein | 01 May 2013 7:44 a.m. PST |
Fortunately I bought the warmaster castles and village before that was dropped. |
AppleMak | 01 May 2013 8:38 a.m. PST |
lots of alternatives. If GW doesn't want to support their own game, others will. usually at a better price and higher quality. (OK, That's in the eye of the beholder, but IMHO
) |
kallman | 01 May 2013 8:48 a.m. PST |
Plenty of alternatives except with perhaps stand ins for Eldar and Orks for Epic. |
McKinstry | 01 May 2013 8:57 a.m. PST |
BFG is being eliminated as well as Necromunda. |
dglennjr | 01 May 2013 9:05 a.m. PST |
Luckily, I have all the bloodbowl miniatures that I will ever need. David G. |

Mordheim, Necromunda, Epic, Warmaster, and Bloodbowl. Be on the look-out for collector's editions of 'all in one' games in the future a la Spacehulk and Dreadfleet

People are STILL lamenting the loss of small niche games? I suspect most of the people sad that they can't buy it everywhere for cheap would be just as quick to complain if the game was played by everybody everywhere and they weren't special and uncommon anymore. |
John the OFM | 01 May 2013 11:20 a.m. PST |
I haven't bought any Blood Bowl since the New wave debacle. And I sold my Space Hulk. So, I'm good. |
Woolshed Wargamer | 01 May 2013 11:37 a.m. PST |
I thought everyone and their dog made fantasy football teams. GW not making them is no loss, surely? |
John the OFM | 01 May 2013 12:50 p.m. PST |
But they won't be OFFICIAL Blood bowl™ figures. I sold mine years ago, BTW. |

Hmmm
GW. I have gone from GW fanboy to GW hater to GW part-time player to GW indifferent. Our Hobby was around and thriving before GW bought out Citadel Miniatures and began their current business model. With the advent of the internet, I am sure that the Hobby will chug right along even if GW fails. If they wind up going "mostly direct only" they can join all the other cool companies and leave Warmachine, Flames of War, and Infinity in the stores. I'm sorry I can't be alarmist about this. GW has simply ceased to be relevant in my life. |

Actually it was the other way round, Citadel was a cash machine and Steve Jackson was having trouble running GW, White Dwarf and working on other projects, so he asked Bryan Ansell to take over GW. Ansell promptly got rid of anything not Warhammer and turned GW into a front for selling Citadel minis. |

But they won't be OFFICIAL Blood bowl™ figures. It won't matter as the GW stores won't host tournaments for dead games ! |
The Real Chris | 02 May 2013 4:10 a.m. PST |
I think for Bloodbowl it matters the least. There is a 'tournament scene' with I think the biggest being last year with 430 players attending. Every single item is available, often more cheaply, from other retailers. Often as simply improved versions of the GW Blood Bowl models. There is even two computer game versions, a free java client and one that costs round £5.00 GBP in the regular steam sales. Compare to Epic. There are many other 6mm manufactures with superior quality and price, but their ranges don't always match that well with Epic unit choices and there is a lack of the GW space races such as Orcs, Elves, etc. This is slowly changing infantry wise but the armour is a little trickier. A number of individuals who had made alternatives to non existent units in 6mm were hit with C&D orders, one is being taken to court for selling them to other members of the same forum (these are things that GW has never made but are clearly inspired by the GW universe). The online client was taken down after further legal letters. Now there are things changing. Numerous companies are cutting closer and closer to the GW look and unit selection in 6mm. One chap is making a computer game based on the epic rule set but with some changes and different units. However one thing for historical players to be aware of, it is often a lot harder to drum up opponents for fictional settings than historical ones especially when they are games that are no longer sold in complete packages. |

Personally I went to the forgeworld and GW webstore to get the things I've never had. Saw the prices after filling the online cart, and thought screw it, it just isn't worth it. The models just cost too much. Now there are exceptions. Many of the 28mm cost less than the average price as they seem to have been forgotten about in the price rises. I have no interest in that stuff though, so nothing there for me

Well, I've been tempted by the WM Bretonnians, but I can see that a decent historical 10mm line might work just as well. I figure I have enough dwarfs, too. (The only thing I lack is that big anvil thing, which I find lame-looking anyway.) But there are a few elements of the orc side I might better take a look at
The advantage with WM is that it's not all that hard to track down "pre-owned" elements if you have to. |
skinkmasterreturns | 02 May 2013 10:43 a.m. PST |
I played Wrmaster in 15mm,using only a very few "official" models I couldnt easily come up with(the Empire steamtank and Dwarf copter, mostly). |

Collector's ranges are also being discontinued. There's a lot of fairly good deals to be had in the Specialist and Collector's sections. 12 Mordheim villagers for $40 USD, or Shaffer's Last Chancers (also 12 guys) for IG for $35. USD That's significantly less than what other manufacturers are charging for metal models nowadays

These specialist games are actually the best of GW, way better than the 40K, WHFB and LOTR. |
