I have a ton of this stuff and not sure if I use use it as a primer for plastic or sealer for plastic and other figures (metal). I did a google fu search and can't find any TMP titles on it. I know I have read several over the years but can't seem to find them now. I have a large bottle of this and figured I would do something with it today but not sure what. VR James Mattes |

Is it really thick? Does it dry clear? |

I would not use it on figures. Its too thick. I only use it to seal terrain objects. Its almost like elmers glue. Yes, it dries clear. Its best to use it on porous stuff that it can get a strong bond on. |

Gesso is often used as a primer and sealer for minis. Mod Podge on the other hand is usually used for craft projects and for sealing jigsaw puzzles that have been completed and framed. NOt a particularly good product to use on your mini figs but great for terrain pieces. |

I primarily use Mod Podge for terrain. It is nearly perfect for flocking. Paint your base, dribble on the flock while the base is wet, tap off the excess when dry, then take some thinned Mod Podge and drip it over the flock until completely saturated. It works pretty well. I use matte, but I would think that gloss would make good water effects. It's intended to be layered; used for decoupage projects. |

One word of caution. Once it is dry it is not water proof. I use it on some floor tiles and was really happy until the tea got spilt. Then the inkjet ink under it bled and the whole thing became cloudy. |

I use it for flocking as Weddier does. It seems to tint the flock slightly darker than what it originally was, but no complaints here. |

I was thinking its perfect for water and mud and swamp. |

Thinks guys I had forgotten why I got it but I remember now it was for basing my Hoth Star Wars figures. I do use Gesso for priming but wanted a more stronger bond on plastics, watering down PVC is too fiddly. VR James Mattes |

Actually, skip the Mod-Podge until the end: mix the sand with your paint, directly, and apply to the terrain pieces, follow it up with Mod-Podge Matte as a sealant, over the paint/sand mix, when the paint is completely dry. This will give it a tough finish. Here is a link to some Q&A's on it's usage: link. The short answer is: wait four weeks for it to fully cure, then spray it with an acrylic water-proof sealer, or matte clear-coat. Cheers! |
