Less than two weeks to go now, and everything seems to be speeding up! We decided to make our show an event where people would get involved. We asked our neighbour clubs if they would support this concept by bringing participation and demonstration games to Legionary. What has happened has been frankly staggering. We now have the biggest number of show games that we have ever had, and with quality and diversity to match. To give you a flavour we have role playing (Pathfinder, and super heroes), fantasy, pulp, science fiction, historical, VBCW, aerial combat (including a challenge table), skirmish games to grand tactical, metal figures to plastic figures, 6mm to 28mm, and finally dinosaurs chasing Hitler through the jungle! A breathtakingly wide spectrum. So to all our neighbours who have contributed you have almost made us speechless. Nearly! Thank you so much.

Our traders are delivering the goods as well. New companies have answered our "call to arms" and supported us by providing a wider and deeper offer for our customers. Have a look at our Traders Page to see who is here, and the promotions which are supporting them.

Finally to support the participation gaming event Phil & Sue Barker will be attending to pick the best participation game, and present The Barker Award on the day. Having heard of our efforts to make this an interactive wargames event they have made the trek from The Midlands to offer their support.

Pictures of what?

GrumpyOldWargamer26 Apr 2013 2:09 a.m. PST

Some interesting special offers there!

Baker Company's 'special Offer' for PSC 20mm box sets is £14.00 GBP which is the full retail price and Somerton Hobbies is offering up to 50% off GW products which is less than they can buy it for!

Mick A26 Apr 2013 3:10 a.m. PST

The 15mm PSC are £18.50 GBP each, going to be getting some of those for myself… :)

Architectus Militaria26 Apr 2013 5:19 a.m. PST

I'll definitely be there taking photographs for the organisers. Looking forward to it as its always a good show.

Brett181526 Apr 2013 9:57 a.m. PST

Looking forward to seeing you again Paul.

Architectus Militaria28 Apr 2013 12:01 a.m. PST

No problems Brett.

It will probably be an early arrival on my part, as I want to make sure that I get photographs of EVERY game on the day. Very impressed with your initiative to push participation games too.

We all know that for our hobby to really flourish, potential newcomers need to actually sit down and play, not just look.

And I hope that the event is well supported by visitors, as it certainly seems that gamers and traders are 'doing their bit'.

See you Saturday.

Royal Marine01 May 2013 1:31 p.m. PST

I'll be there, ready to jeer bad dice from a flank. Who's first?

Royal Marine01 May 2013 1:32 p.m. PST

Hey AngelBarracks are you bringing your Coat d'Arms paints? I need some of the good stuff baby.

Angel Barracks01 May 2013 2:59 p.m. PST

Yup.
Got a few inks on offer at £1.00 GBP instead of £2.00 GBP.
Brushes on offer too.
Ohh plus my normal show offer on paints.

Royal Marine01 May 2013 3:08 p.m. PST

I'll get me coat then … (pun – funny me, ha ha! – I need a better audience)

streetline02 May 2013 12:01 a.m. PST

Remind me about brushes please Michael. In exchange, I'll keep Dave busy and not making jokes.

Angel Barracks02 May 2013 2:02 a.m. PST

Just selling them at £2.50 GBP instead of £2.75 GBP.
Though if you keep Dave busy, that could be worth special discount.

;)

BakerCompany02 May 2013 5:48 a.m. PST

Just saw this one – please note that we aren't doing any 20mm PSC boxes (never have done – it is all 15mm & 28mm) which certainly isn't full retail price at £14.00 GBP Look forward to seeing some of you there!

Danny

Scarab Miniatures02 May 2013 6:43 a.m. PST

Scarab Miniatures also have our game (see other thread) and also a deal on Wargames Factory box sets (which is now on the legionary website) 3 boxes for £36.00 GBP This saves around £13.00 GBP off retail, and is also on our web site as well, along with lots of other deals, which we will also have with us at the show.

I have limited stock of the separate plastic horses, so if you want 24 Celt cavalry for £20.00 GBP (1 box of WF cavalry, plus 12 separate horses, email us in advance via the website please (so I remember to pack the horses!)

Kind regards

Rob

… Still here, with nothing to do …

Has anyone mentioned Star Wars yet?

Oudinot02 May 2013 2:15 p.m. PST

@Grumpy Old Wargamer

50% off GW? I was offered more than 50% off RRP by GW in March to stock their products in one of my shops, perhaps Somerton were offered the same deal? (or better)

Angel Barracks03 May 2013 5:44 a.m. PST

I am waiting until the last minute for a mould to be ready to try and make a sample of my JunkerDome to bring to the show.

Until then I will continue to spill resin over my jeans…

:(

Royal Marine04 May 2013 4:23 p.m. PST

So Mr Angel came up trumps…

I got the paints I wanted and I had in tow with me a 13 year old sidekick son of another Royal Marine who I am turning into a wargamer. Looking for some dice, Mr Angel gave him a few spare bags of small-medium sizes free! That's how you hook the youngsters into the hobby.

We also played some fun VCBW and Dinosour participation games and negotiated some really good deals on 40k Chaos figures. A good day and I now have some 10mm Mongols from the bring and buy.

clifblkskull04 May 2013 9:05 p.m. PST

Pictures anyone?
Thx
Clif

clifblkskull09 May 2013 10:40 a.m. PST

I guess no pics

Angel Barracks09 May 2013 2:46 p.m. PST

I was thinking that.
Odd as there were at least 2 wargames magazine photographers there that day, plus people with cameras, I saw them!
