I am looking for rules where the figures are mounted on bases in multiples. Each base is a platoon or even down to a squad. I want them to be the level between a skirmish set and big games. Ideally players will be battalion or regimental commanders rather then platoon or company at the skirmish level or brigade/ division commanders at the bigger level. Can anyone recommend any rules for this level? FM |

Battlefront: World War II. link Stands represent one squad or 2-3 vehicles or guns. Each player typically commands a battalion. |

Crossfire. Each stand is a squad, players command companies or battalions. |

Second Blitzkrieg Commander. The command and control is very unpridictable- that may or may not be your cup of tea. |

I think you'd like BKC mate
Similar mechanics to Black Powder believe it or not
multiple orders possible, blunder rolls, emphasis on C2
.and yes, one base = one platoon/troop. |

Fistful of Tows – Platoon bases. Easily handles very large numbers of forces. Fireball Forward – Squad Bases. Though normally in charge of a company sized force there is nothing to stop a larger one. |

If you want to command brigades and up to a division with platoon sized bases then Spearhead. Many other 1 base = 1 platoon rules of course, including Command Decision, Blitzkreig Commander and TAC:WW2. Based on your Italian thread, CD might be what you are looking for, particularly the mighty CD supplement 'Beghazi Handicap' which extensively covers the early part of the desert war. |

Another recommendation for Battlefront:WW2. One of the best, cleanest designed WW2 sets out there, and they let you fight with up to a battalion a side very easily. |

Another vote for TAC. 1 base/vehicle = 1 platoon Good command and control system. One person can easily handle 2 battalions . |
