I like a lot. My suggestion to really get an "impression" of how it looks would be a unit beside it and take some pics from further away. Its going to give a different impression again once painted. What sort of "wax" are you using? Does that mean its a master for casting in resin? |

Hi EagleSixFive, The plan is to mould the piece in silicone once it's completed which will allow me to take reproductions in either resin or casting plaster
Not sure which yet. The wax is plastiline fine quality. |

Very nice model, there would be many happy to buy that. At the York show, I saw a 'compact' Borodino game using 15mm figures and 10mm building terrain and the blend was really good. I agree with the above post really, it is going to be seeing the figures and the buildings on a table situation in which each melds with the other to make the best judgement. When just the two 'naked' samples are stood together, the eye is immediately drawn to the figure and the doorsize. So I think it will work more than the photo can suggest. |

Thanks Norm. I'll probably take a few shots of the piece once it's completed..(few weeks yet!) on a tabletop setting but I think it's pretty common practice in 'large scale' gaming to use smaller buildings. I play Snappy Naps which uses small formations of figures to represent large bodies of troops much like V&B, Grande Armee etc so I think this is definitely the way to go for me after all this single little building would probably represent a village or small town in Snappy Naps! |

Plasticine, that is a great idea. Are you using a rigid former then applying the facade or is the whole thing plasticine? |

It's 'Plastiline' ESF, not Plasticine (which is very oily) There is no former involved and the whole thing is solid wax with the detail either added to it or sculpted out of it. |
