I was following the discussion on the return of JR Miniatures and started browsing through the website and the line of 15mm prepainted jungle/desert terrain caught my eye with its material description of 'RTV' (As an example, link

All of the RTV I know of is flexible, so I started thinking about the possibilities of flexible terrain stands/bases instead of the usual flat CD base. I can think of two positive features of this: the terrain stand could be placed on an uneven base, like a hill or something, and the base would sort of stick to the underlying mat and not slide around.

I know that special-effects makers have some sort of paint that bonds to the silicones that they use to make body prosthetics. Has anyone tried something like this?

Total Battle Miniatures have been using flexible terrain bases for a while now with much success.

I found using a PVA glue mixed with emulsion paint worked well.

War Torn Worlds link makes flexible terrain from recycled tires. Great prices for practically indestructible terrain.

The rocky hills slope up to a 15mm height and could be used as a base for terrain. The hills could probably be ordered without flocking, I have always had great service when buying from them at conventions.
