I have no experience at all with this type of transfer and am looking for a little help. First, the directions say to paint the shield face white. What will the results be if I try to color match to the color of the transfer? Second, any tips on how to achieve the best results using these is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've purchased and painted Corvus Belli 15mm figures and really like them, but I have not used Corvus Belli decals/transfers. If they are water transfers and Corus Belli is directing you to paint the surface of the shield white, it is probably because the quality of the decal's color is poor and some or all of its detail might be lost if it is placed over a dark color like a strong red, green, blue or black. It's not an uncommon problem. This may not be the issue with the Corvus Belli decals/transfers. As I said, I've never used their decals. Unless someone gives you a conclusive answer, probably the best thing to do is practice with different background colors on something else before using them on your figures.

The colour quality is not poor. It is just that the transfer is translucent. Imagine a bit like stained glass.
If you apply it to a coloured surface it will muddy the colours and ruin the design. Paint the shield white, let it dry and then apply the transfer. The colours will then ping out at you.
If you have not used the transfers before. Read the instructions properly and try experimenting on some paper with a bit of the waste bottom of the sheet with the writing on it to check the method.

DO EXACTLY WHAT STEVE SAYS.ive used these transfers before an d they are excellent.i know the process is a little strange, compared to VVV style transfers application but trust me you wont be disappointed.be prepared to loss one or two but dont worry they are great.

Couldn't agree more. Read the instructions and don't go in 'half cocked'.
Quality product giving a quality finish IF you don't try to cut corners and try to be clever.

Does LBMS make transfers that work for Blue Moon Romans?
