Looking for comments from those that have played this Napoleonic campaign game. What did you think?

I have not played it, I believe it's very good , however, the review on BGG has gone since profiles are closed so does any of the messages made by those profiles, which is a real pain…..

Try ConsimWorld there should be information and reviews on there, sorry I can't helkp you any further, except to say if I had some spare cash I would have picked this up….

It is packed with useful information, but you need an umpire and ideally several players per side to act as corps/division commanders. It appears to entail quite a bit of work for the umpire.

We had someone in our group purchase one of the campaigns in that series and you definitely get a lot of stuff for your money as the components are well done. However, from just my cursory reading of the books it appeared as if it would be a lot of work to actually run the game.

I have both editions- It is indeed a lot of work for an umpire- but well suited for adapting to a play by E-mail campaign. Setting up some of the bookeeping using EXCEL spreadsheets saves a lot of paperwork.

Best, I think, it is an excellent starting point for developing 'house' campaign rules.

One nice feature is the ability to use actual historical maps (not just those that come with it) and a compass to do movement- which is a delight, as it gives planning and executing marches a real period feel.

Thanks for the heads up. I just saw a copy at the Compleat Strategist and was wondering about it.
