We are very pleased to release our latest models, and the first 28mm models we have released in a while, the 28mm Federal Army. These are 28mm versions of our extremely popular 15mm Federal Army range.
This first release has infantry as well as vehicles -- the vehicles are entirely resin, the infantry are all one piece pewter castings. Our goal was to provide infantry with both the recession-busting price of plastics (about $1.30 USD a figure) and the strength, heft and ease of one-piece pewter pieces, and we hope you like the results.
The Federal Army is the largest military force in the Federation. Federal Army Heavy Infantry wear extensive carapace protection and carry a variety of weapons, most common being the pulse rifle. One soldier in each fireteam will usually have a plasma grenade launcher attached to his rifle as well. The 28mm Federal Army Rifle Set has nine unique poses -- a squad leader, two team leaders, two riflemen with grenade attachment (these are the five poses to the left in the above image), and four riflemen.
Fire teams often have one or two squad rapidfire riflemen with the larger and much more powerful, but heavier, rapidfire pulser. The 28mm Federal Army Squad Rapidfire Weapons Set has four models in four unique poses.
Attached at higher level are infantry heavy weapons -- the 28mm Federal Army Heavy Weapons Set has a missile team of loader and missileman, a plasma gunner, and a marksman with heavy anti-material rifle.
The model of the Polecat Armoured Command/Utility Vehicle is approximately 102mm long and comes with a missile launcher which may be swapped with the rotary gun turret -- it's not shown here but is identical to that on the 15mm vehicle.
The model of the massive Caiman Heavy APC is approximately 190mm long and has an adjustable starboard door. This massive, heavily armed and armoured vehicle can carry a reinforced squad directly into the centre of the battlefield, then support them on to victory. As were their 15mm versions, the 28mm infantry were sculpted by Mike Broadbent. The vehicles (and the infantry shown with the vehicles for comparison) were painted by dwartist and the infantry in the standalone photos were painted by Chris Yaro. Available now, at the link below. link Federal Army Infantry with tripod mounted heavy weapons will be a future release -- they are already well underway. If this line proves popular we will certainly release more of our 15mm vehicles in 28mm scale. Happy gaming! |

Khurasan, you ARE the man! That is way too cool. I cannot believe the pricing. I'm blown away. Thanks, John |

Does this mean we may see some Space Demons in 28mm? |
tnjrp | 22 Apr 2013 10:37 p.m. PST |
More pertinently, will any of the nonhumanoid techy aliens in Khurasan's range be making an appearance in 28mm? I would buy those but no these. Make no mistake, I think they are quite neat, very affordable and even very nicely painted in the above pix. But nothing overly exceptional that I'd have a need of these days. Good for anyone starting out with "realistic/gritty industrial" scifi human infantry tho I'm sure. |

In the immortal words of Sgt. Apone- "Absolutely Badass!" Thank you Jon for listening to your customers and then following through BIGTIME! As soon as I get my paycheck I know what I'm ordering |
Wolfprophet | 22 Apr 2013 10:59 p.m. PST |
Love 'em. The missile launcher might be a little on the large side though compared to the 15mm version? Otherwise, these are amazing. I'd say they're pretty much too cheap for 28s as well. I hope they sell well and you make back the investment quickly. I know I'll buy a fair amount. Some for me, some probably just to paint for fun and then sell off. |

Thank you. I have complained at length about the dearth of new 28mm. These are wonderful. Al |

Looks like you could give someone a right good thrashing with that APC, and I don't mean on the tabletop, I mean on his head! |

"Oh, shiny!" Great looking miniatures, great price and I don't have to put them together? Those infantry are so awesome I ordered some shortly after I saw this topic. I've got so many other projects to work on still but I felt I HAD to support this offer. |

OK, I'm weak – I ordered some. What suggestions do folks have for rules and setting to use them in? |
Admiral Yi Sun Sin is my Homie | 24 Apr 2013 9:43 a.m. PST |
Regarding rules I was thinking about: Bolt Action Sci-Fi mod Tomorrow's War 40K (used as IG, this is my son's idea. I think Khurasan Miniatures deserve better than that) SST/Rouge Trooper Fireteam Andromeda (scaled up to 28mm from 15mm) |
khurasanminiatures | 24 Apr 2013 11:14 a.m. PST |
all good suggestions, or you could use them as a convenient excuse to try the new Swatters rules by Ganesha Games. I'll be releasing the 28mm scale parasachnids disturbingly soon, so you'll have bugs to pit against the army troopers by the time you're done painting them (or even before). |

Nice
No building or glueing figures together, really nice! They will be my light to medium nonpowered infantry. |

What suggestions do folks have for rules and setting to use them in? As they don't have anything exotic, just pick any generic set of scifi rules or use them as stand-ins in any number of non-generic ones. If you specifically want to pit them against the upcoming bugs (yawn) then it narrows the options down of course. |

Fast and Dirty is also option:) they can also do some zombie hunting if you ask me:) I will order some but my hopes goes to 28mm exterminators and Space Deamons. btw the packs are casted on or seperate? |

BTW the Caiman is huge with a functional beauty all of it's own. So nice I'm going to actually buy one and paint it in camo! |

Well, these certainly flew out the door! I can see now what people meant when they said, "you know, you really should make 28mm models too." I have sold straight through my initial stock of everything but the Polecats, and that's only because I ordered a very large initial stock of Polecats! But not to worry, my casters are moving heaven and earth to get restocks on all this stuff to me, so that if anything there will only be a minor delay of maybe a few days more on deliveries. I'm interested in knowing what vehicles in my 15mm Federal lines you may be interested in seeing in 28mm scale. (Other than the Siler, that will have to wait until I'm well and truly sure that large 28mm scale vehicles sell well.) |
dwartist | 25 Apr 2013 10:11 a.m. PST |
Siler (what? yes I know what you said!). How about the 'mediums' then? Tanks and APC's. The HATVC and the Cossack. |

Wow! The combination of price, nice sculpts, and great paint jobs in the adveretising and write-ups probably demonstrates how helpful information sharing (and advertizing) on TMP can be to sales! |

Ordered a Caiman the day you put the ad up here, my only question is about the resin used. Is it like the 15mm caiman (eg won't take acrylic paint), or have you used something different for this one? I only ask for ease of painting, as it,s not easy to use spray undercoats where I live. |
khurasanminiatures | 26 Apr 2013 4:49 a.m. PST |
What colour resin was the caiman you received? |

My 15mm Caiman was a sandy yellow colour. The big one arrived today, it's great, and has drawn a few admiring looks from folks I showed the kit to. |
khurasanminiatures | 02 May 2013 8:07 p.m. PST |
The sandy yellow resin is resistant to acrylic paints unfortunately. I don't use that resin anymore, thank goodness! Glad you like the 28mm version. |
