Now I know the long saga of BTD- a company that over the years so many people have desperately wanted to succeed, but have been frequently frustrated and disappointed by. A few weeks ago I ordered some figures from BTD for my uncle's birthday, paying by PayPal as I fully anticipated having to claim a refund. I ordered the figures because no-one else did these particular miniatures, so despite it seeming like a long shot from the outset. I thought I'd give it a go, knowing my cash was fairly safe through PayPal and a linked credit card. The order arrived, in full, in a matter of days, well packaged, with lovely, crisp figures! I'm really hoping that BTD have turned the corner now, as they do some great figures and I could never understand where the rocket science came into simply putting them into a jiffy bag, sticking a stamp on it and getting them out to people happy to pay good money for them. |

I've ordered many times in the last year from the U.S. representative in Texas and ALL my orders have been prompt and complete. |

The problem for BTD isn't execution – that's just a symptom of the real problem, which goes back to the people running the operation. |

I've only ordered once from them, but I had a decent enough experience with them. When one of the elements of my order was delayed, they offered me my pick of a free set of figures from the same range as an apology. I thought it was a nice gesture. What are the bigger problems with the company? Regards,

I have made three orders through the US guy over the last year. No issues. I was missing a part in one pack and he got it to me asap. I'd order again from the US gent. Thanks, John |

What are the bigger problems with the company? They owe Bill money, so BTD is a touchy subject around these here parts. |

As I recall, when they got caught running "sock puppet" accounts on TMP (to promote their products and tear down their competitors, pretending to be "regular gamers"), they refused to pay their advertising bill for a few years… but they eventually decided they really wanted to advertise, so they paid up and I let them back as advertisers (they promised things were better now)… and after a while, they stopped paying again, and wouldn't communicate… and after a few years, they decided to finally pay their bill. That's the kind of people they are. So how can you expect them to run a company effectively and efficiently? |

I ordered over 300 Brits & Zulus during their half off sale after thanksgiving. They said 'thirty' days, and i too had my worries. Thirty days later they arrived. Excellent to see another positive experience |

I ordered a some of their dwarfs around the 30th of last month and a few shadow elves a day or two later. They shipped the two orders together (but didn't charge me any less for shipping the two orders) and sent everything but two dwarf bolt throwers. I have sent them a couple emails since then trying to get some information about the remaining items, but have gone unanswered. Was also suppose to receive a coupon for 10% of my orders places in the month of March, haven't gotten any more info on that either. |

I have placed five orders with BTD USA within the last year and most arrived quickly without incident. In a few orders, an item or two was back-ordered but the out-of-stock items followed quickly. Figures picked up during one of their many sales are a real bargain. Communication via email was generally prompt. |

I've never had a problem with multiple orders. A couple times things were backordered as Jon mentions above, but the rest of the order was sent along and the backordered items arrived in a reasonable time. In fact, just this week I placed a small order on Monday, and had it in my mailbox by Friday. I have no hesitation ordering from them, especially at those prices. Among the best you'll find. |

As I understand it BTD UK and BTD US are effectively separate companies selling the same figures. The US BTD is generally pretty good.
The UK BTD has a terrible reputation though apparently they have been getting their act together recently. I still wouldn't throw any of my hard earned their way though.
No idea if they advertise separately on TMP. |
