Been working on a panther today. Any thoughts and tips for the weathering and blending would be very greatly appriciated. There's more pics on my blog

Go check out the AK pigments blog/website. Great tips!

I think the better way of muddying up a vehicle is to mix some snow powder (or baking soda) with earth-brown paint and use a nasty paintbrush to glomp it on.

You can also add some static grass to the mix, makes it look even more like churned-up earth.

I'm in the minority no doubt, but I like the 'fresh off the factory assembly line with a new coat of paint' look.

That's how I like my aircraft, but any ground vehicle is always covered in dust.

Managed to find time in between painting grenadiers to finish off a Panther. If people like this one then the other 4 will be done the same.

You might want to repost the pictures, as the links don't work directly (had to modify it after putting it into my browser, nothing hard).

However, the Panther looks GREAT! Has a 'clean, but not' look – like it's been a bit rusted from being dirty for so long, then finally getting a clean.

One small criticism. The way you have camo'ed the running gear doesn't look right. Often the wheels did have some disruptive colours applied but it would not be just a continuation of the pattern applied to rest of the vehicle.

To look like yours the vehicle would have to be parked with the wheels in the exact same position as when the camo was applied…if you see what I mean…
