I cannot speak to this one specifically, but my experience with Osprey books on Indian tribes is that they are not really aimed at wargamers, in contrast to typical Ospreys. There's as many illustrations of old men and women and children as of warriors. I suppose their market is middle school libraries and such.

I'll be interested in what others think, but I haven't found them very useful.

According to the ad you linked to, it hasn't been released yet. The release date is given as April 23. I'm going down to my FLGS and reserve a copy. Yes, Amazon would save me a few bux, but I support my FLGS when they can get me the product.

doc, I like the plates of the women, children, elders and ceremonialists. I have civilians in all my towns. And I really liked the plate in the Iroquois MAA of Atotarho with the rattlesnakes in his hair.

Right. They are what they are. But there is not the emphasis on warfare that I, at least, have come to assume with Osprey.

I wish someone would sculpt a figure of Atotarho with his snake-hair writhing. Prolly never happen. You couldn't sell enough copies. Eric at Conquest makes a set of Iroquois Elders, False Faces and musicians, but I doubt they've been big sellers for him. I don't see Warlord Games rushing to bring that particular pack to the UK. Too bad, because they're pure art in 28mm.

Mark of the Going Native Kickstarter project swears he's going to produe a 28mm Horned Serpent. If he does, I'll buy two copies: one for me to paint, and another to give to a *talented* painter.
