Hi,

I've been working on a vignette as a starting piece for a demo game of the Battle of Fornovo 1495. Here's a little taster of what you may expect:

There are plenty more pics on my blog including my thinking behind changing the vignette to give it more of a Late Medieval Italian flavour:

Please feel free to have a good old gander,

Darrell.

Darrell, good luck with your project.

What scale are you planning to refight it at?

There is a lot of cavalry at that battle, 2400 men-at-arms on the Allied side alone. If you count that number as 'lances', that makes anything between 4800 – 7200 heavy cavalry. Then there are the 2000 light cavalry including 600 Stradiots.

When you add the French….phew. I don't envy you if you have to paint all that lot up, especially as you are obviously a talented painter who spends quite some time on each figure.

I can see your point. I'm not at all certain about the scale as of yet but it will be something matching our Battle of Verneuil game we demo'd at Salute in 2011 if you managed to catch the game?

The Perry Plastic's will be coming in very handy, let me put it that way :O)

That's a WHOLE lot of 28mm's needed! I wish I could afford that project!

Good luck!
